Former President Barack Obama has been in regular touch with Vice President Kamala Harris‘s campaign about a possible endorsement, a source familiar confirmed to the Washington Examiner.

Obama remains the most important Democrat holding out on endorsing Harris since President Joe Biden announced he was suspending his reelection campaign Sunday. In Obama’s statement following Biden’s surprise suspension, he did not mention the vice president.

However, Obama, who has known Harris for more than 20 years, thinks the vice president is off to an impressive start, the source told the Washington Examiner.

According to the source, Obama believes it’s important for Democrats to engage in a legitimate process where delegates can select the new nominee. Obama notably did not endorse Biden early on during the 2020 Democratic primary, and as Biden weighed a 2016 presidential run, Obama quietly worked to convince him not to enter the race against Hillary Clinton.

Democrats quickly coalesced around Harris as the new nominee after Biden threw his support behind her Sunday. Top leaders on Capitol Hill endorsed Harris in the days following Biden’s withdrawal, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY). Harris raised $81 million in 24 hours after Biden dropped out, and, in total, she raised $126 million by Tuesday. Harris has secured more than the 1,976 delegates needed to likely lead the Democratic ticket.

The Democratic National Convention approved a new time frame Wednesday that limits the amount of time any other challengers have to announce a presidential campaign which nearly guarantees Harris will become the nominee during a virtual roll call that will be held by Aug. 7 to comply with state ballot certification deadlines.

“We are all working hard to execute this nomination with transparency, with fairness, and efficiency,” Jaime Harrison, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, told the committee members.

Barack Obama has not yet endorsed Kamala Harris' presidential bid because he is skeptical about her ability to beat Donald Trump, a Biden family insider has claimed.

Harris won the backing of a majority of the Democratic Party delegates on Monday, a day after President Joe Biden, 81, announced that he was dropping his reelection bid and, shortly after, endorsed the Vice President.

Top Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi and Gavin Newsom, quickly rallied behind Harris, 59, and issued public support of her campaign - but Obama has remained noticeably silent.

A source close to Biden's family told the New York Post that the former president is 'very upset' about Harris' candidacy, even claiming that he 'knows she can't win' against Trump, 78.

The insider further went on to claim that Obama, 69, believes Harris is 'incompetent' and 'cannot navigate the landmines that are ahead of her'.

But other Democrats told Dailymail.com Obama has privately fully supported Harris' candidacy and has been in regular contact with her throughout this week.

They claim he believes her campaign is going well and he's set to publicly endorse her soon.

NBC, meanwhile, is reporting aides for Harris and Obama have 'discussed arranging for the two of them to appear together on the campaign trail'.

Obama falls in line, she will be the candidate for the Democommies.

But if the Democommies do not cheat, and that is wishful thinking, she has zero chance.  She has never received a single vote for position of POTUS in a primary, she has never received a delegate as a result of the votes received in any primary or caucus.  What the Dems are doing is giving ammo to the Trump campaign to use declaring that it is the Democommies that are destroying the franchise of the Democommie electorate.  There will not be many that will be offended by that because the average Dem voter has an IQ somewhere near 85, but what will bite them in the posterior is the inability for Harris to speak any more intelligently than the fool she is replacing.

And if Biden really wanted to help her, he would resign making her POTUS.  She would be much stronger in the position of POTUS running against Trump, but instead, Biden insists on staying in his position.  Biden is not capable of running to the finish line for this 2024 election, just 102 days away, but he is capable of remaining POTUS until mid January, 2025. 

IF OUR ABDICATIVE CONGRESS DID THEIR JOB, THEY WOULD HAVE A VOTE RIGHT NOW TO REMOVE BIDEN.  IF HE CAN'T MAKE IT TO NOVEMBER, HE IS NOT CAPABLE OF FUNCTIONING AS POTUS.

"In talks" implies negotiations - which imply Obama is trying to maneuver for whatever would benefit him. He seems very motivated by money, so who would pay him off to endorse Harris, and why?
