Kamala Harris tries out four campaign slogans

Vice President Kamala Harris has quickly converted President Joe Biden‘s reelection campaign into her own since securing the president’s endorsement following his announcement that he would ‘pass the torch.’ Now comes the next step — deciding on her own campaign slogan.

Biden’s reelection campaign ran with the slogan “Let’s Finish the Job,” while former President Donald Trump’s campaign uses the slogan “Make America Great Again,” the same one that defined his campaign in 2016 and 2020. In Harris’s unsuccessful 2020 Democratic presidential primary bid, her slogan was “For The People.”

Harris’s 2024 campaign has tossed around a few options through graphics or ending statements in her speeches. Here are four of those slogans.

They're all stupid.

"We are not going back."  Great.  It's all about Not-Trump and what you're not going to do.  What is it that you are actually FOR?

"When we fight, we win."  That's yet to be seen, isn't it. Also, with all the pearl-clutching after Trump's raised fist 'Fight, Fight, Fight' after his attempted assassination, it seems pretty hypocritical.

"Let’s win this/Together we can win this."  Ugh.  The next four years aren't about the election.  Tell me what you are FOR, not about the election itself.

"We are not playing around."  And again, you're telling me what you're NOT doing.  Tell me what you're planning to DO.

Of course, the answers to what she's actually planning to do -- continue with open borders, climate change/green new deal crap, etc. -- is also problematic, but whatever.

Trump's "Make America Great Again" is all about looking forward and optimism.  He gets what a slogan should be.  (Even if Reagan did it first.)
