No. They aren't as battered as they seem, but even that makes them more dangerous than ever. A wounded animal, especially one backed into a corner has an incredible amount of fight left in it, and no holds are barred. They may be momentarily on the ropes, but they are far from throwing in the towel.
We know their traditional bag of tricks, and I would not eliminate the use of 'civil unrest' to disrupt the election, nor any of the other means employed to date to cause problems, right down to trying to prevent ballots from being cast through some pretense.
Unless you're willing to believe that some young nutcase acting alone managed to somehow elude and evade all security, flawed as it was and nearly kill a leading Presidential candidate, somehow involving two vehicles and a bicycle, and shooting from two locations at the same time, then there is a lot more to the attempt on Donald J Trump's life--one which nearly succeeded.
Look at the reaction of the German High Command when Operation Valkyrie failed, and see what will be among the Democrats. Desperation will make for strange bedfellows even among that lot, as who is to be sacrificed, and who is to try to reformulate the power structure to keep what they have and even acquire more gets sorted out.
Democrat voters matter little except to set the point spread in the polls, the rest will be done counting ballots, real, fabricated, or imagined.
