Why a virtual roll call????

Democrats plan to push ahead with virtual roll call ahead of their convention, with Harris favored

The Democratic Party plans to push forward with a virtual roll call in which delegates to its convention can choose a presidential nominee before they gather next month in Chicago — despite Vice President Kamala Harris being overwhelmingly favored to replace President Joe Biden at the top of the ticket.

The convention rules committee will meet Wednesday to approve how the virtual roll call will work, but a draft of the plan was obtained by The Associated Press on Monday night. It does not list a date for when virtual voting would begin, but Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison said the process will be completed by Aug. 7 — or 12 days before the party’s convention begins.

“We are living through an unprecedented moment in history and, as a party, we are tackling it with the seriousness that it deserves,” Harrison said on a conference call with reporters. “We are prepared to undertake a transparent, swift and orderly process to move forward as a united Democratic Party with a nominee who represents our values.”

He also said Democrats “can, and will, be both fast and fair as we execute this nomination.” ...............

.............The president endorsed Harris to replace him on the Democratic ticket, but she won’t formally do so until nominated by the party’s convention delegates. The rules of the virtual roll call her party is planning require Harris, and any other potential Democrat willing to challenge her, to submit 300 electronic signatures from convention delegates, not more than 50 of whom can be from the same state. .......................

To avoid drama inside the convention hall.

I have a feeling that there's going to be quite a bit of drama regardless of what they do; virtual roll call or not.

Then of course, they can always change the rules as they see fit.

To avoid drama inside the convention hall.

How about in order to control the outcome. They will throw Kamala under the bus I'm sure.

The Politburo of the Supreme Soviet Democrat Party has decided they will move forward with their democratic approach to selecting/confirming their candidate for the POTUS election of 2024.  The votes rendered by the electorate have been rendered null and void.

Presently, this candidate on the table did not receive a single vote by the electorate, did not receive by free election a single delegate.  This person will be selected by the Politburo.  Ah, democracy is preserved.

As in most contests, when the person that came in first does not measure up, doesn't it usually go to the runner up?  Who was the runner up to Biden in the primary process?  Anyone know?  That person would be more appropriate than a person that never received a single vote to be the candidate, never received a single delegate in the primary process for 2024.

I just searched, and Dean Phillips received the 2nd highest number of EARNED DELGATES with the Democrat Primary process.  It was 4.  And those 4 delegates were 4 delegates greater than Harris received.

By right, Phillips should be selected if Biden cannot fulfill his role as the individual that championed the primary race for the Democommies.

But it will be the Politburo of the Supreme Soviet of the Democommie Party that will decide who will be our next POTUS.  Perhaps we should just cancel the election in November and move right to the choice of the Politburo.

What do you think?
