Long caricatured by Republicans, Vice President Kamala Harris is hoping to reintroduce herself to the public as she seeks the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination and takes over President Joe Biden‘s reelection campaign apparatus.

Although some members of the public have been familiar with her since her unsuccessful 2020 Democratic primary campaign or know about her shaky start to her vice presidency, Harris and her aides are looking to steady her and the Democratic Party after Biden upended this year’s election by announcing last weekend he was stepping down as their nominee.

Almost 100 days before this November’s election, should Harris, 59, secure the Democratic nomination, it could change the dynamics of the contest against former President Donald Trump because it creates opportunities for Democrats to reconnect with the party’s base, particularly young and minority voters who have become disenchanted with Biden due to his age and foreign policy.

“I was a courtroom prosecutor,” Harris said Monday during her first in-person political appearance at her campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware. “In those roles, I took on perpetrators of all kinds: predators who abused women, fraudsters who ripped off consumers, cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain. So hear me when I say I know Donald Trump’s type.”

With the Trump campaign rethinking its strategy considering the former president’s own problems appealing to women, Trump and his team have underscored Biden and Harris’s shared record, especially regarding the southern border, in addition to her weakness with white voters and those without a college degree in the battleground states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

The "race" on which she is embarking is all about race - and nothing but race - come to think of it.

Yesterday my wife got an invitation from a cousin.  The invitation was for a "Black Women's Forum to Support Kamala."
Her cousin just assumed that since my wife is a black women that she must necessarily be a supporter for Kamala, when in fact my wife is a huge Trump supporter who thinks Kamala is a cancer on the face of America.
This sort of tribalism--the idea that one must think a certain way based on one's skin color and/or gender--is destroying America and is why I constantly point out that the Democrat Party is now and always has been the party of racism.

It doesn’t matter because both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are pretty well known by the voters at large

Both of them are  unpopular candidates. Both have weaknesses that the other side can exploit

Kamala Harris was the most liberal U.S. Senator in Congress.

She wanted to get rid of private insurance, eliminate oil & gas, provide benefits to illegal aliens, and confiscate the guns of law-abiding citizens.

Then Joe Biden appointed her as "border czar" and we all know how that turned out.

The Democrats are only excited about Kamala Harris at the moment because they no longer have a candidate who's catatonic. But she may fall flat on her face before the convention.

She's a lousy candidate and would be an even worse president.

Weaknesses?  I'll take the candidate that wants to stop the invasion and start deportation of ILLEGALS vs. the candidate that wants to turn our Republic into a 3rd world country.

I'll take the candidate that will honor the 2A instead of destroying it.

Of course, IF the left changes the SCOTUS (seating more leftists) and/or grants amnesty.  Our country will be completely and forever destroyed.  :reaper:

She ran for president in 2020 and has served as VP for 3.5 years.  If she thinks she hasn't defined herself by now, she is deluded.
