I think the Dems will making a big mistake, because Harris is simply not very popular with voters outside the Dem Party i.e. moderates and disaffected Republican voters.
But I think she'll be the nominee. If she chooses Buttigieg as her Veep, I'd bet a lot of money on Trump to win.

Who cares if the DEMS would be making a big mistake.  Let them.  It's not like Joe's entire presidency hasn't been a mistake and Kamel's vice-presidency has been full of mistakes with the biggest one being doing her job as little as possible.

Amusing rhetoric aside, the truth is that what the Democrats are doing isn't any kind of a threat to democracy.  It's pretty clear that an awful lot of people who voted for Biden during the primaries reconsidered after seeing him in that debate.  They knew that Harris was going to be his running mate when they voted for him, so she seems like the most reasonable replacement in terms of being consistent with primary votes.  So the choice was either to keep a guy in the race who those people never would have voted for, or replace him with his running mate.

And the bottom line is that all voters will get a chance to cast their ballots in November. If people don't want Kamala Harris as president, they won't vote for her.

It won't.  If a person is not qualified to be President, then he/she isn't qualified to be Vice President either.  Unfortunately, all 50 States have already deemed her qualified.  So it is going to be impossible to get a one of them to reverse it this late in the game.

If Republicans wanted to challenge this, they should have done so in 2020.  But they didn't because they thought the ticket would be easier to beat with her on it.  Since Republicans refused to stand on principle in 2020, it is disingenuous for them to suddenly find it in 2024.  You can't have it both ways.
