Former Obama henchman David Axelrod and former Republican congressman Adam Kinzinger are crying foul over Sen. J.D. Vance’s assessment of events that led up to the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump on Saturday, and both are crying that he should be disqualified as a potential vice presidential candidate for Trump.

Vance spoke the truth about the dehumanizing vilification of Donald Trump in a post on X, a campaign that includes Trump not only being compared to Hitler but, in some cases, even being called Hitler. A campaign that saw President Joe Biden regularly call the presumptive 2024 Republican nominee “the greatest threat to our democracy” and a “threat to America.”

“Today is not just some isolated incident. The central premise of the Biden campaign is that President Donald Trump is an authoritarian fascist who must be stopped at all costs. That rhetoric led directly to President Trump’s attempted assassination,” the Republican senator from Ohio posted on X after an assassin’s bullet struck Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Why is Kinzinger even getting anymore coverage?  Little sobbing POS should be ignored entirely. 

And Axelrod?  The guy has some poltical savvy, so him trying to slime Vance on this matter kind of tells me that he is the one VPOTUS potential candidate that they fear most.  In any case, I am alright with any of the ones being bantered out there, except for Nikki Haley.

dang, for months I thought it would be that Doug from North Dakota but the last several days I'm now convinced it will be Vance. All the wrong people dislike JD, all the wrong people are for Burgum. Adam should really more about his real political party.

thanks for that info - is it true that the announcement will be later today? If it's not JD, it's one good fake-out. I think it's a better pick that those other two in any event.

Maj. I believe is uncomfortable with his foreign policy. 

I'm not voting for Trump either way, but Vance doesn't change that.  He is inexperienced, and McConnell had to spend a lot of money to save the Ohio seat.

Good the flow of $$ into Ukraine needs to stop. Isolationism at this point may not be such a bad thing.

Bottom line -- roll back inflation, secure the border and lower taxes.  You can't even attempt to fix the bleeding of our soaring deficit until we get a handle on the $$$ that is poured into Ukraine and other countries and what we spend on ILLEGALS.

So ... right now ... and I don't know a whole heck of a lot about him, I don't see Vance as necessarily a bad pick.

I am thankful no Rubio, or Ramsy.  Both would have been absolute disasters. Everyone else would have been more suitable.

Just don't be surprised if Trump comes up short partly because he picked someone controversial.  Trump already plays well in Ohio.  Seems like he'd want to expand the map to Virginia, New Mexico, and places like that instead of depending on razor thin victories in a slew of midwestern states.  He chose the narrower path.  It may work by default, but is the country on the line or is it not?
