EXCLUSIVEInside the White House cover-up: How the Biden inner circle's 'calculated' plot to hide Joe's decline dramatically backfired

White House aides have carried out a 'calculated' years-long plot to hide President Joe Biden's cognitive decline from the world, an insider reveals, only to see the 'gatekeeping' effort fail miserably when Biden had to fend for himself during last month's debate.

Staff closest to the ailing 81-year-old deployed a multitude of tactics to hide his deficiencies - limiting reporter access to him, giving the president smaller stairs for Air Force One and physically surrounding him in public to hide his stiff walk, a former Biden aide tells DailyMail.com.

Biden has also been given large-print notecards with the most basic of instructions written on them for almost every event and kept to a tighter daily schedule so he can get more sleep.

There was even staff charged with devising strategies to keep the president from falling down, the source said.

Now, the insider says, those advisers who coordinated the president's protective cocoon should be held to blame for his spectacular fall from grace and the mounting calls for him to drop his reelection bid.

The ex-senior staffer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the 'guardrails' placed around Biden meant his meandering and mumbling debate performance was amplified to the more than 50 million viewers.

And because his deficits had been shielded from the public by those inner circle aides many Americans were shocked to suddenly see his dramatic decline exposed live on national TV.

Biden's falls and gaffes since he took office in 2001 had been highlighted largely by conservative-leaning media outlets but all-but-ignored by more liberal news organizations.

That is, until his primetime car-crash two weeks ago on CNN.

They weren't fooling anyone but themselves.

Biden has a weak and incompetent team around him.  If he wants to stay in the race, and win, he needs to shake up his campaign and White House staff.

Harris has to stay for window dressing.  Buttigieg is a waste of a Cabinet position.  Antony Blinken is an underperforming Secretary of State.  Jake Sullivan is wrong.  Ron Klain has steered Biden too far Left.

If Biden was serious about securing the Border, he'd also get rid of Mayorkas.

Seriously - why is anyone surprised?

"Hell has no fury like a press corps deceived," was how Axios described some reporters’ realization that they were allegedly "duped" by the White House over questions about President Joe Biden’s mental acuity.

The idea that journalists in the White House press corps, who spend virtually every day tracking the president’s whereabouts, were unaware of his general fitness for office came as a surprise to many. A large majority of voters, polls show, have said Biden is too old to run for reelection for at least a year.

But a Washington Free Beacon review of dozens of White House press corps pool reports—essentially transcripts and notes from Biden’s after-hours fundraisers and short remarks that are only distributed on an exclusive listserv—raises questions about whether Biden’s disastrous debate performance truly caught the press by surprise. For more than six months, those transcripts show Biden stumbling over his words, trailing off, and making baseless claims about his past and presidential record.

Nearly every fundraiser Biden held from December 2023 through July of this year features multiple verbal slips. At times, the reporter in attendance was unable to transcribe his words, such as during a May fundraiser in Seattle where the official transcript says "inaudible" seven times.

At other times, Biden's words were audible but the sentences incomplete or illogical. At a Washington, D.C., fundraiser in May, Biden said he was "honored to see that heritage across most of the diversem [sic]—and I—let me say it another way. I told you, when I get elected, I was going to have an administration that looked like America." ...

No outlet with access to that pool report wrote about Biden’s difficulty in articulating his opponent’s health care plan. The White House Correspondents' Association, which runs the White House pool, did not respond to a request for comment or for audio recordings of the fundraisers mentioned in this report.  ...
