Amid reports that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) has nabbed a spot on former President Donald Trump’s vice president short list, the former president’s son is warning that picking the Hispanic Republican might be a damning concession to RINOS, or Republicans in name only.

Days after the Washington Post reported that Rubio was one of the final three candidate options for Trump’s running mate, Donald Trump Jr. gave a frank assessment of the Floridian senator.

“I have a good relationship with Marco, but there’s some truth about having someone that’s a little more establishment in there,” Donald Trump Jr. said on his podcast, Triggered. “It’s like, wouldn’t the Senate RINOS, wouldn’t they love that?”
The former president’s son said he was worried that by picking Rubio for vice president, his father might unwittingly submit himself to the will of RINOS, who could use establishment power to impeach the former president and put Rubio in the Oval Office.

Constitution requires VP and President to be from different states.

Both Trump and Rubio are residents of Florida.

The logical choice is J.D. Vance of Ohio.

Now, Trump has never been one to let himself be constrained by logic.

I don't see Vance as giving Trump anything more -- even the tiniest bit more -- than he already has.  I don't think that's a good strategy in what is likely to be a close race.

Yes, but keep in mind that Rubio can move out of FL and then become VP.  He would obviously have to vacate his Senate seat. 

I'll say it again, Trump needs to pick someone who is Black.  With Kamel likely to fill Joe's spot, she likely would pick a Black VP.

Byron Donalds would be my pick, but he also would have to move out of FL.

His son is absolutely correct on this and Trump for once needs to listen.

Trump needs to rethink his list and select someone who's going to bring benefits to the VP slot and be able to take over as president immediately should the need arise.

Rubio would be a terrible selection as VP.  Nothing about him impresses me.

And don't hold your breath Trump picking someone that is black.  Not going to happen.

To believe Trump is not partially under the thumb of the deep state is a mistake.  He succumbed to them in his first term.  Somewhere in that 1st term his rhetoric toned down dramatically and he became more docile.  Am I the only one here to have noticed this?

I believe there is a movement to move away from all things black.  We have dumbed down our society enough by destroying our education programs to prop up the blacks that have no interest in education.  They have no interest in the same things of our base society.  90% of all their children grow up without a father.  They just do not have the same values as most Americans.

The WORST move Mr. Trump could make is to pick a black vp candidate.

It will bring in next-to-no black voters and become a source of much trouble in the future.

I can state with assurance that I will never vote for a black for high office. You're welcome to call me whatever you wish. I couldn't care less.
