Maybe they'd have more aircraft carriers if they didn't waste all that money on building Littoral Combat Ships (LCS - Little Crappy Ship).

The USN has 11 carriers, four of which are in Norfolk getting repaired/refitted.

The USS John F. Kennedy (CVN 79) (Ford Class) has yet to be commissioned.
