Joe Scarborough slams ‘media elites’ calling for Biden to step aside in 2024

MSNBC’s Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough slammed the “media elites” for suggesting President Joe Biden step aside from the 2024 election, days after he claimed Biden would lose “unless there’s a change.”
Scarborough argued that he initially said Biden should consider dropping out after the debate, but at the same time people should give him “some time” to see what polling data would show in the ensuing days. He then claimed that Biden can now say that “media elites,” billionaires, and “Hollywood moguls” are in opposition to his reelection, and could appear strong by continuing his run despite his naysayers.
“So Biden allies, now, this is what they’re going to say, ‘Oh, wait a second, so you’re telling me that media elites and billionaire donors and Washington politicians and Washington [sic] moguls, they all think that they can substitute their judgment for the judgment of millions of Democratic primary voters?’” Scarborough said on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. “John Heilemann, it may happen. And this isn’t about what ought to be, this is about what is, and you know, Joe Biden has a fired up, angry Democratic base in parts, and he’s gotten a lot of elites putting him in a position where he can look strong, staring them down.”
