Border arrests of foreign criminals set for record high

Associated Press via Newsweek Border patrol arrests of non-citizen criminals entering the United States through the Mexico border are set to reach an eight-year high.
Since President Joe Biden assumed office in 2021, the number of criminals entering the U.S. through the border with Mexico has sharply increased compared to Donald Trump’s presidency. TOP VIDEOS Skip Ad Figures this year are on track to exceed previous years as in the 2023-2024 fiscal year, which runs from 1 October until 30 September, there have already been 13,130 arrests.
At an average of 1,092 a month, and with three months of the fiscal year remaining, this year’s total is likely to exceed last year’s total of 15,267. In the final fiscal year of the Trump administration, 2019-2020, only 2,438 non-citizens were arrested by Border Patrol in connection with a crime, compared to 10,763 in 2021.
