Oregon is taking a controversial approach to water conservation and groundwater protection by targeting small farms and market gardens. Yanasa TV, a project of Yanasa Ama Ventures shared a 20-minute video that details what local bureaucrats are up to. Using satellite technology, they are sending cease and desist letters to small farmers, requiring expensive infrastructure upgrades. This crackdown has led to significant legal battles, as small farmers struggle to comply with the new regulations. Here’s what they had to say about this troubling development.

What's funny is it's the Left that pushed the small, local, organic farm movement for decades after the 60's, and now have completely turned on them and stabbed them in the eye.

Doesn't that fall under seizing by eminent domain??  Who makes the decision as to what is seized is for the benefit of the public???

Jeb! made a few dollars utilizing 'eminent domain'.  Really, the government can seize someone's farm if it benefits the public, or lakefront property if they feel it benefits the public.

I say No! No! and No!!!!!!

I agree, but there was a push some years ago, that the gov't in FL wanted to 'inspect' private gardens ... and also put some type of fee on them.  Jeb! was  governor at the time.  There was a woman at our local Republican club that was fighting that bill and eminent domain from taking over individual property rights.

There was talk of also putting a consumption meter on electricity and water to limit how much people could use, regardless if they paid or not -- over consumption would result in a fine.  I do not recall if Jeb! was governor or not.

Either way any sort of finite government control like that is absolutely dangerous and obviously puts our freedom(s) in peril.

So now they are pushing this 'going green' crappola which will be designed to do just that; control consumption and monitor your every move.

Also... the just-released U.S. Supreme Court decision that overturned "Chevron"... could this be applied "at the state level", as well... (i.e., local governments exceeding their Constitutional requirements and "restraints")...?

Government control to an extreme should be a huge concern for all of us.  IF you don't pay your water or electric bill, then sure they have the right to cut you off.  The extreme to that is to monitor how much water or electricity you use and it being regulated and monitored to the extent that they will not allow you to just pay for what you use, but rather cut you off regardless if you pay for services or not as they deem fit. That is what is beginning to happen.  This is what truly scares me. 

Shutting down small farms is basically cutting off families from using their land as they see fit; in essence not allowing them to feed themselves. I live in the suburbs. If I buy a couple of raised garden beds and grow lettuce and tomatoes, I should have the right to eat that food; it has been proposed that gov't should be allowed to inspect those gardens.  I say No!

All of the above is plain wrong.  Dangerously wrong.
