FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. -- A Guatemalan man in the country illegally is charged with sexual battery on a 14-year-old girl in Okaloosa County.
Jose Chan, 24, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of sexual assault. He's in Okaloosa County Jail on a hold for ICE.
"The girl disclosed the abuse to family members who took her to HCA Destin-Fort Walton Beach Hospital," the sheriff's office says in a release.

"A medical examination of the victim showed a positive finding for sexual abuse," the release states. "Florida Department of Law Enforcement lab results also found evidence of the girl’s DNA on Chan, via buccal swabs obtained from the defendant."
The FBI confirmed the identity of Chan due to his past deportation by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Feb. 9.
