Report: White House Officials ‘Finger-Pointing’ over Biden’s Debate Prep

Kristina Wong 28 Jun 2024

Finger-pointing among White House officials over who is to blame for how President Joe Biden’s “inner circle” conducted his debate prep has begun, according to a report.

A person in Biden’s “orbit” told Axios, “He was over-prepared and relying on minutiae when all that mattered was vigor and energy.”

“They prepared him for the wrong debate. He was over-prepared when what he needed was rest. It’s confounding,” the person added.

A former Biden White House official said, “It’s sad but it also makes me so mad to think of all the smart people lying and trying to make this work.”

One former administration official said, “Disaster.”

Former Obama adviser David Plouffe told Axios, “DEFCON 1.”

Biden spent two days at Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, before hunkering down in debate prep at Camp David, Maryland, for an entire week with his closest advisers.

Ron Klain is a terrible political consigliere for Biden.

You have to understand, Biden's brain can hold anything. But there are some things you have to know.
One: that it's totally empty.

And two: you can't just shove information into his head. You have to be careful. Feed him information slowly, bit by bit, drop by drop, until it's full.

Biden's brain can actually get full with information. And then you got to be really careful. Because each new thought after that will totally replace an old one. That's why Biden gets those looks on his face. His Cache is emptying.
You don’t become cooler with age but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool.

Too much time and money spent on recreating the CNN studio at Camp David - not enough on Joe's physical and mental fitness.

While Skeezy had a bad debate, what really matters is the Rats THINK he had a really bad debate, and are in total panic. Panicked Rats are always a good thing.

Biden's handlers should have done what a good fast food restaurant does with its menu's ... simplify.

Rather than filling Biden's limited cranial capacity with use info and stats, they should have worked on simplifying answers and reducing the amount of detail he needed to remember.

Biden's mind has reduced capacity, therefore, his handlers need to prioritize and streamline what he needs to remember and say.

TV debates are not the US Senate ... you don't get points for long-winded, bloviated answers.

Kind of yes and kind of no.  The CNN commentators were talking last night about the fact that at one point the moderators told Biden he still had 84 seconds left, and it reflected badly on him that he wasn't capable of continuing to talk through and make his points either on that topic or even pivot to something else like Trump often did.

A younger Biden would have regaled about growing up on the hard-scrable streets of Scranton or learning about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion through his interactions with Cornpop.

His inability to do that is further evidence of his cognitive decline.

Exactly.  The moderators told him he had time left to speak a couple of times, and I only watched half of the debate.

There's just no covering up how poorly Joe performed during the debate.  He's in rough shape and so is our country under his leadership.

Have they considered that his dementia may have had something to do with his abysmal performance?
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

They really think we don't see what's going on - especially those of us who have had a front row seat to our own family members' dementia.

Exactly.  There are millions - likely tens of millions - of Americans who have had a front row seat to people with dementia, and we can see with our own eyes that Biden has it.  There's no way to talk around that to people who have seen it.

And folks such as myself who has dealt with patients with dementia for over 30 years.

If Biden was a patient in the hospital, we would have bed alarms  and a Tele sitter
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.
