One man's opinion on the events of last night and this morning.

I think it is possible that the events of the last twenty-four hours may well prove to be the tipping point that saves this Republic.

Just my opinion.

"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

You guys think it will be a brokered convention?

That would be extremely ironic if it went that route... Especially in the name of "democracy" and "every vote counts" throwing out the millions of votes in the primary because the powers that be changed their mind... Big Mike being the candidate at the convention may quiet down the likely potential for riots at the Dem convention.

Americans don't want a 4th Obama term as President.

Why are so many fixated on and afraid of Michelle Obama?

I think the Dem Convention will resemble a thrash metal mosh pit.

For the dims the past 24 hours has resembled a NIN album.....

I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

This is just me - she’d generate breathless excitement for many and her “machine” could hit the ground with amazing speed, I think.

That’s all based on if she wants it, which she doesn’t

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

True or not, her positives are the highest among the dims, and then there is this faux perception that the Obama era was our best.  Added bonus?  Advertise it as a 3rd Obama term.

IMO, she about the only one who can beat Trump at this point.

And I think she’d have the ability to influence down ballot elections.

@Right_in_Virginia because whether we like it or not, the Obama's were popular with the DEM voting base. Obama's popularity with the Black population would negate the Black votes that Trump would get.  Barrack has been pulling the strings all along.  The DEMS will stop at nothing to see to it that Trump doesn't regain the WH.  IMHO they are the ones that can stop Trump.  I believe that perhaps all along this has been the plan; they put a demented puppet in the WH to control, to topple this Republic and now that Joe is so far gone, they will insert themselves to finish what Barrack started when he took office -- to fully transform America.

I have predicted this for awhile, though she says she doesn't want the job, if it means stopping Trump I think she'd do it.  The more they try to stop Trump the more popular he becomes.  That's not what they had planned on. After last night's debate, it's pretty obvious that Joe can't be the nominee and Harris certainly isn't going to ensure the Black DEM vote.

Just my opinion.  I'd love for you to convince me otherwise.  No, I am not looking for an argument -- just your opinion as to why I shouldn't be afraid of Big Mike running against Trump.

You keep saying that and I keep saying otherwise. What the Obama's say and do are deceptive and always have been.  If it means stopping Trump, I have no doubt that she'd run.

This is an election where virtually anything could happen. There are a lot of wild cards floating around.

And they need Biden off the board to do it without their hands on it. It also needs to be a quick change before people really have time to come to the grips with its ramifications. An alternative path from two widely hated candidates.

My concern now is what Joe is going to do when he meets with the U.N. in September.  IIRC the proposed 'agreement' would give the U.N. more power.

I disagree that the Obama's are widely hated -- certainly not by the DEM voting base.  However, Trump's voting base is one thing and those that have decided that they can't vote for Biden is another issue.  Those are the voters that will likely be recaptured by the DEMS should the Obama's run.

Just my opinion.

Ah .... but Big Mike's husband is who the DEMS would really be voting for.

Examples?

Can you give me an example of Michelle saying one thing and doing another?

GOP needs to exact somehow, someway enact some legislation, limiting executive power on a short term basis.  EO's, proclamations, decrees, whatever.   He needs to be presented or proven as a modern day Chauncy Gardener.
