At least 6 'underperforming' Hooters restaurants close in Texas, 40 nationwide

At least six Hooters restaurants in Texas suddenly joined the growing list of restaurant closures over the weekend, and more may follow.

Is Hooters closing?
A handful of Texas Hooters locations have been listed as "permanently closed" on Google, and national sports bar chain officials have confirmed the closure. U-Haul moving trucks were spotted being loaded outside of Lubbock's Hooters, which was among the Texas locations to permanently close.

Hooters employees also shared the closure is the most recent of around 40 locations that have shuttered across the U.S. In addition to the Texas locations, Florida also saw the closure of a Hooters over the weekend.

I hated when my favorite lunch spot, the Shrimp Hut in Seabrook, became a Hooters.

If I remember correctly, it was a Busy Bee Cafe before that.

I went to Frank's Shrimp Hut most every week, until it became a Hooters.

Big rolls?

I remember back 20 years ago when we lived near Houston, there was a place called Kelly' that did the same.  Think they had one in Pearland, and another down one exit on I-45 past NASA Road 1. 

They also had these double plate sized Chicken Fried Steaks too that should have had a challenge to complete.

The last time I was at a Hooters was about 15 years ago.  My wife was in the recovery room after a double mastectomy.  Across the lot from the hospital was a Hooters.  I walked over to commiserate the loss of the nicest pair of breast I had ever fondled and look at what i would be missing. All I saw was augmented boobies, Tats and bad wings.

I've only been to a Hooters once. My manager won a bet that paid off in giving all of us free meals at Hooters.
