 Trump says he’s decided on his running mate

Former President Trump told reporters Saturday he’s made up his mind about who will be his running mate in November, but he has yet to tell anyone who it is.

Trump told NBC News ahead of a rally in Philadelphia that he’s settled on a vice presidential choice.

“In my mind, yeah,” Trump said when asked if he’s decided.

Asked if his pick knows it’s them, Trump responded, “No, nobody knows.”

The selection process for Trump’s running mate has ramped up in recent weeks as several candidates received vetting materials from the campaign. Trump has said he may announce his choice at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee next month.

Sources familiar with the process have told The Hill the front-runners for the position are North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum (R), Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).

Others who received vetting materials and are under consideration include Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) and former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson.

The only one from his list that I truly think would make a great VP is Donalds-- unfortunately he's from FL.   Rubio would help him with the Latino vote, but again he's from FL and the Gang of Eight still haunts him.

He needs someone that's going to upset the apple cart and give him and unprecedented win in a very blue state. So, from his list, I predict he's going to go with Elise Stefanik.

My pick though she kills puppies ( *****rollingeyes*****) but no longer in consideration would be Noem.

A dream ticket and a shocker would be Cruz, though I know that's not going to happen.

Former President Donald Trump told reporters in Philadelphia that he has made his decision on a running mate, though he has not told them yet.

NBC News journalist Jake Traylor reported that Trump has selected his vice president, though he has not informed them yet. He added that the candidate will be present at next week’s presidential debate between Trump and President Biden.

I was under the impression that there wouldn't be a live audience -- so -- will the public even see any of his proposed VP's on TV?

Secondly, Trump is 78.  He needs to pick someone that will be able to step in and run this country should something happen.  IMHO that eliminates Vance who has been in the Senate less than a year, and Carson who served as HUD Secy.  Rubio should be out - Gang of Eight and from FL. Donalds from Florida (though I truly think he's a fighter and a conservative). That leaves Stefanik and Burgum with Burgum having experience as a governor.  I don't think Burgum is going to bring enough to the ticket to really help him.

Again, by process of elimination of those listed - Stefanik.

She could bring him NY which would be a major upset for the DEMS, and he'd have a female on the ticket.

He has a record of not picking the best people.  Most of all, I think his supporters, the GOP and the RNC should be more concerned about his sentencing in a few weeks.

Stefanik, or maybe....out of the blue, Sarah Huckabee? I still say Trump will go for another bland milquetoast like Pence and damn the country if he for whatever reason they may have to takeover because Trump will never allow anyone to steal the limelight from him **nononono*
