Oh no! Prayers up for Willie.
Willie Nelson Cancels Number of Upcoming Tour Dates After 91-Year-Old Gets SickCountry music fans are praying for the best after Willie Nelson announced that he would be missing some upcoming tour dates due to an undisclosed illness.
The 91-year-old iconic artist was set to perform at a number of music festivals and headlining shows this summer before he released a statement earlier Friday that he would unfortunately have to miss this weekend's Outlaw Music Festival in Alpharetta, Georgia due to the music legend "not feeling well."
"We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctor’s orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days," a statement read on Nelson's social media accounts. "In the meantime, Lukas Nelson and the Family Band [Willie's son] along with some surprise guests will perform special sets to include Willie's classics and other songs."
So far, the affected tour dates include Nelson's Georgia date as well as his upcoming Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina shows.
The news comes just a few months after the country music star was finally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. At the time, he spoke to People about his Outlaw Music Festival Tour and the realization that Father Time stops for no one.
"There's probably other things I will do and can do, but I'm not going to push myself too hard. I know one day it all ends, but I'm not rushing it," Nelson said before adding that playing music is what has "kept him going" throughout the past 70 years........
