Americans were horrified and sickened over the news that an illegal alien raped a 13-year-old girl in New York City, but it was a laughing matter for one Democrat congresswoman and MSNBC’s Joy Reid.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal joined Reid on Tuesday’s edition of “The Reid Out” where the “race lady” who recently ditched her orange Trump-like hairdo for a dingy close-cropped Dennis Rodman-style cut, hosted the House Progressive Caucus queen.

During their conversation, they made light of conservative outrage over Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, one of Joe Biden’s criminal “newcomers” from Ecuador who sexually assaulted a young girl in a park in Queens in broad daylight, a stomach-turning incident for people with a moral compass, which isn’t Reid and Jayapal.

Rather than acknowledge the horrifying experience as what it was, they chuckled about Republican “fearmongering” and made a human tragedy that should have never happened all about their party politics.

On Tuesday, Joy Reid sat down with Washington state Rep. Pramila Jayapal and the two discussed illegal immigration into the US, an issue at the top of voters' minds this election season. On his first day in office in 2021, President Joe Biden reversed President Donald Trump's border control measures and since then illegal immigrants have been pouring into the country by the millions.
 
"There's a lot of fear-mongering," Jayapal told Reid.

"There is a lot of fear-mongering," Reid agreed. Jayapal has been advocating for refugees from Gaza to be allowed to come to the US.
 
"And I think it's kind of remarkable that the polls I look at, the national polls, actually Americans still support immigrants, they support immigration," Jayapal said. "It's just that they would like to see a system that actually works and that can keep them safe and secure."

"Yeah," Reid said.

I'd like to say they wouldn't be so giddy if she were a daughter of one of them, but as I think about who they are, I'm not so certain. :pondering:

Democratic Washington Rep. Pramila Jayapal drew criticism over her reaction during an MSNBC interview Tuesday, the New York Post reported.

During her appearance on “The Reidout” with host Joy Reid, Jayapal appeared to laugh when discussing news outlets’ reporting on President Joe Biden’s June 18, 2024 executive action, according to the outlet. Jayapal’s reaction, specifically in response to the Fox News banner reading, “Migrant arrested for raping 13-year-old New York City girl,” drew criticism.
 
The segment highlighted the perceived differences in reporting between MSNBC, CNN and Fox News. MSNBC and CNN were shown reporting on Biden’s announcement of legal protections for undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens, while Fox News appeared to run a chyron about the arrest of Ecuadorian migrant Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, 25, who is accused of a crime in Queens, New York. Inga-Landi allegedly confessed to recording his attack on a 13-year-old girl, the outlet reported.

“Ha! Yes,” Jayapal responded. “And so I think that’s a part of the problem,” Reid continued.
