McDonald’s on Thursday outlined what its upcoming $5 meal deal will contain.

Under the meal deal, customers will get their pick of one of two sandwich options – a McDouble or a McChicken – plus small fries, four-piece McNuggets and a small soda as accompaniments.

It will debut on participating restaurants’ menus in the U.S. on June 25 and be available for a "limited time" only, according to McDonald’s.

They don't have a What-A-Burger around here.  We have Wendy's McD's Culvers and mom & pops .... we usually do Wendy's or the mom & pop burger joint.  McD's makes me ill.  $10 is reasonable.

I had a very bad experience at Wendy's once and have a long memory. Same with Arby's

It never ceases to amaze me how expensive  fast food has become. Add a couple of bucks and you could go to a Mom and Pop place and have a real meal.  Or better yet, just cook at home. Confession: I do still go to Mickey D's about once a year 'cause I love a Big Mac and their fries.

My autistic son would rather go into a sit down restaurant then go through a fast food drive-through. I haven’t been to a fast food restaurant and probably 6 or 7 years

LMAO Every time I hear anyone repeat that mystery meat bull in regards McDonald's, you don't have to like them, I neither like or respect them they burned that bridge the last few years I worked for them. However I was in the GSF (golden state foods) plant that produced the beef patties for the LA region several times while managing And twice working on their quality lab after and every time I could see the case beef put in the massive grinders and patties go straight into the flash freezers.
Now if you want to talk nuggets I have no clue what Tyson does

Rant off. We may being seeing a new version of what we called the burger wars back in the 70's when increased competition and increasing minimum wage had everyone coming up with low dollar menu items in in an effort to cutthroat the competition.

It has become ridiculously expensive.  Domino's had pizza about a month ago for $6.99 for a large pizza with 2 toppings.  Not the greatest pizza -- but cheap eats to satisfy the pizza craving.

Tonight I'm fixing sugar snap pea beef stir fry and rice.  Only about a tbsp. of teriyaki sauce for the entire pan because of the salt, but it does give it a smidgen of flavor.

I made a huge mistake last night,after sitting in a crappy hospital chair at my wife's bedside for ten hours I was beat and decided to stop at a Carl's Jr about a minute and a half from home and ordered a burger and a small fry, oops only medium size I swear less then two minutes from me being banded the. At to sitting down it was Luke  warm,  the tomato slices were an inch and a quarter drone from the end of the tomato and the managed to pull one thin ring of onion to put on it. I have never in my life been so close to being the guy that goes back and throws the scrap in their faces!

they are the bright spot in the fast food industry in California, always hot, fresh with really nice tomatoes. They stick to a limited menu and do it very well with pleasant employees. They are what MickeyD’s was almost 50 years ago when I started there. As long as they resist adding menu items and continue to resist going franchising they will keep being great.

Fast food places have all sorts of alarms going off all the time, people shouting out order numbers..."NUMBER FIVE YOUR ORDER IS READY!!!", there's too much activity, the colors and bright lights are oppressive, too many loud children and loud adults...it's a sensory overload for anyone in the spectrum.
