The Post MillennialA former Biden appointee and current Texas Democrat candidate for a county commissioner was arrested on Wednesday after creating fake social media accounts to post racist comments pointed at himself.
GOP 3rd Precinct commissioner Andy Meyers requested that the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office (FBCDAO) investigate the source behind social media posts directed at Taral Patel, who is running against him in the race for the seat, an arrest affidavit stated.
Patel wrote in a Facebook post the previous month that "As your Democratic candidate for County Commissioner, I am always open to criticism of my policy positions and stances on issues. However, when my Republican opponents supporters’ [sic] decide to hurl racist, anti-immigrant, Hinduphobic, or otherwise disgusting insults at my family, faith community, colleagues, and me - that crosses a line."
Included in Patel’s post were screenshots of Facebook comments calling Patel a "dirty Pakistani," telling him to "learn English," and saying they will "never support an Indian or an Asian."
The arrest affidavit stated that Meyers "recognized the username 'Antonio Scalywag,'" and that this account had previously made posts attacking Meyers prior to Patel entering the race. ...
