Is it possible for our government to be any more stupid?
And when I say "stupid", I am giving them the benefit of a daily-increasing amount of doubt.
Never mind that the technology involved is known to be wildly inefficient and utterly undependable when the sun is either blocked by clouds or at too low a declination (seasonal angle) to provide a useful power source. And also, never mind that the impact of solar panels on any "global warming" would be absolutely negligible - not even measurable.
Now: consider the inherent danger of purchasing equipment from America's prime military adversary and then intentionally placing it in a facility whose purpose is to command, control, and communicate with the armed forces whose purpose is to protect America against the same adversary.
And then, given China's well-documented propensity for incorporating spyware into their manufactured products, well... it gets even stupider. And dangerous.
