Report: Joe Biden Reserves About One Week for Debate Prep

President Joe Biden will reportedly designate about all of next week at Camp David to prepare for his first presidential debate on June 27 with former President Donald Trump.
In February, Special Counsel Robert Hur described Biden as “an elderly man with a poor memory.” Trump believes this should require Biden to take a drug test before the debate begins.

The White House, in May, refused to confirm if Biden intends to use performance-enhancing drugs in preparation for the presidential debates.

“I don’t want him coming in like the State of the Union,” Trump said. “He was high as a kite. I said, ‘Is that Joe up there, that beautiful room?’ And by the end of the evening, he’s like” — Trump made a guttural sound — “He was exhausted, right? No, we’re going to demand a drug test.”

“He can’t talk, he can’t walk, can’t find his way off a stage, can’t put two sentences together,” Trump added. “Although he has agreed to debate, so I don’t know. Maybe they know something. He’s going to be so jacked up for those debates; you watch.”
Biden is taking the debate seriously, a person with knowledge of the president’s plans told the Associated Press. Biden’s debate prep could last “the better part of a week at Camp David” for just the first debate alone, the person said.

Biden’s prep will consist of honing his attacks against Trump on topics such as abortion, democracy, taxes, and Social Security, Jen O’Malley Dillon, chair of Biden’s reelection campaign, wrote in a recent memo.

Trump can easily counter those attacks, it seems. Polling shows voters say Biden is a greater threat to democracy than Trump. Trump vowed to quit taxing service workers’ tips and to protect Social Security. Abortion is a state issue, not a federal one, per the Supreme Court’s ruling in 2022.

Trump will likely attack Biden on soaring costs, open borders, foreign policy failures, and the weaponization of the judicial system.

Just another sneaky way for Biden to take a week off. If anyone actually believes there will be any Biden/Trump debate I have a bridge for sale that you need to look at!

RNC declares 'victory' in judge ruling on Michigan secretary of state's signature verification rule

"This RNC legal victory confirms the importance of mail ballot safeguards in Michigan’s Constitution," RNC Chairman Michael Whatley said.


AMichigan judge partially ruled against Democratic Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson's lenient guidance on signature verification, following a lawsuit brought by the Republican National Committee.

On Wednesday, Michigan Court of Claims Judge Christopher Yates ruled "that the 'initial presumption' of validity in signature verification of absentee-ballot applications and envelopes mandated by the December 2023 guidance manual" issued by Benson "is incompatible with the Constitution and laws of the State of Michigan."

The RNC, Michigan Republican Party, and the National Republican Congressional Committee filed the lawsuit.

RNC Chairman Michael Whatley said in a statement Thursday, “This RNC legal victory confirms the importance of mail ballot safeguards in Michigan’s Constitution. The Secretary of State’s covert attempts to sidestep these rules were rightfully rejected by the court, exposing that her attacks on election integrity have no substance. This win is just the latest development in our ongoing fight to promote fair and transparent elections in the Great Lakes State.”...

Biden Enters ‘Debate Camp’ with Advisers Ahead of 1st Showdown with Trump

President Joe Biden enters Camp David in Maryland on Thursday to begin a full week of preparing for his contest with former President Donald Trump in the first presidential debate of the 2024 campaign.

The octogenarian and his team of advisers will use the secluded rural setting for intensive preparation and coaching in the days before heading directly to the June 27 debate hosted by CNN in Atlanta, ABC News reports.

According to a campaign official, Ron Klain, Biden’s former chief of staff, is leading the debate camp preparations at the presidential retreat.

Other senior campaign aides and longtime advisers, including Cedric Richmond, a former White House aide and current campaign co-chair, will also be on hand, the ABC News report notes.

If elected, Biden would be 86 when he completed his second term, the oldest president ever to serve.
