UPDATE: Hamas Rejects Biden's Deal; Blinken Admits 'Miracle' Deal Is Copy of Hamas Proposal
Margaret Clark
~4 minutes

Hamas has officially rejected the deal Biden touted as the answer to end the war in Gaza. This should surprise no one because it is the 56879870384th deal that Hamas has rejected. The difference is that this deal was supposed to be different, according to Biden.

In fact, it was different than the other deals Israel offered because they weren’t the ones to make it up. Blinken stated unashamedly that the deal was copied from a proposal drawn up by none other than Hamas themselves.

Hamas should not require much convincing as the proposal is nearly identical to the one Hamas itself proposed on May 6, according to Blinken.

So to recap: Biden announced the vague “miracle” deal that he claims was Israel’s idea. Oddly, he announced it instead of their own Prime Minister, and he announced it on the Sabbath when the Israeli government could not respond. The deal sounded nothing like what Israel had been demanding all along, and the Prime Minister had to directly refute it as misinformation. Then, Blinken attempts to encourage us by assuring us Hamas will accept the deal because they wrote it. And, of course, they still reject it because making a deal was never really something they intended to do. Any sane person can see that at this point.

Blinken says some of Hamas’ proposed changes to a cease-fire plan in Gaza are workable and some not
Associated Press, Jun 12, 2024

BEIRUT (AP) — U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Wednesday that mediators would keep trying to close an elusive cease-fire deal after Hamas proposed numerous changes to a U.S.-backed plan, some of which he said were “workable” and some not.

The back-and-forth laid bare frustration over the difficulty of reaching an accord that can bring an end to eight months of war that has decimated Gaza, killed tens of thousands of Palestinians and left scores of Israeli hostages still languishing in militant captivity. Previous moments of optimism have been repeatedly dashed by the differences between the two sides.

[...]

Hamas conveyed its official reply to the proposal to mediators on Tuesday. Hamas spokesman Jihad Taha told the Lebanese news outlet ElNashra that the “amendments” requested by the group aim to guarantee a permanent cease-fire and complete Israeli troop withdrawal from Gaza.

The proposal announced by U.S. President Joe Biden includes those provisions, but Hamas has expressed wariness whether Israel will implement the terms. While the U.S. says Israel has accepted the proposal, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has given conflicting statements, saying Israel is still intent on its goal of destroying Hamas.

Speaking alongside Blinken, Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani said: “We have seen the behavior from both parties on different occasions been counterproductive to the efforts.”

The proposal’s three-phase plan would begin with a six-week cease-fire and the release of some hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. Israeli forces would withdraw from populated areas and Palestinian civilians would be allowed to return to their homes. Aid distribution would also increase.

At the same time, negotiations would start over the second phase, which is to bring “a permanent end to hostilities” and “full withdrawal” of Israeli troops from Gaza in exchange for the release of all remaining hostages.

Phase three would see the launch of a reconstruction plan for Gaza and the return of remains of deceased hostages.

A major hitch for both sides appears to be the negotiations for the second phase.

Israel’s ambassador to the U.N., Gilad Erdan, said Israel will demand that Hamas be removed from power as part of any agreement on that phase. “One of our conditions is not only the release of the hostages, it’s also the future of Gaza,” Erdan told CNN’s “The Source” on Monday. “We cannot agree to Hamas continuing to be the rulers of Gaza because then Gaza will continue to pose a threat to Israel.”

He also said Israel opposes a provision extending the initial cease-fire as long as talks are going on, saying it would allow Hamas to “continue with endless and meaningless negotiations.”

Hamas, in turn, appears to want stronger guarantees up front that the talks will lead to the permanent cease-fire and withdrawal.

Hamas doesn't want peace.  They are buying time to regroup and re-arm.

If IDF starts to obliterate Raffah, don't be surprised if Iran's Axis of Resistance opens new fronts to take pressure off Hamas.

I am not and never have been a leftist.

If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

Hamas Says Blinken ‘Part of the Problem’ as Ceasefire Deal Falters

Joel B. Pollak 12 Jun 2024

A spokesman for Hamas said Wednesday that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken was “part of the problem, not the solution” as the Biden administration official urged the Palestinian terrorist group to accept a ceasefire deal.

Blinken has been traveling in the Middle East this week in the wake of a United Nations Security Council resolution that formalized the administration’s proposal for a ceasefire and hostage release, which it said Israel had accepted.

Israel had agreed under U.S. pressure, while insisting on achieving its war goal of destroying Hamas’s military and governing capabilities. (Biden falsely claimed the proposal had come from Israel, which Israeli officials denied.)

The administration has been urging Hamas to accept the deal, and has asked countries with influence over Hamas to pressure it to accept the deal. But thus far, Hamas has simply pocketed U.S. concessions, and asked for more.

The proposal was, the State Department said last week, “virtually identical” to past Hamas proposals. However, as Breitbart News noted at the time President Joe Biden announced the proposal, Hamas had rejected similar plans.

The sticking point, for Hamas, is that the proposal does not explicitly guarantee that Israel will stop fighting on a permanent basis. Hamas has insisted for weeks that the U.S. issue a written guarantee of a permanent ceasefire.

Earlier in the week, Hamas welcomed the UN Security Council resolution, while insisting on more negotiations. On Tuesday, it issued a formal response, in which it made a number of additional demands, including control of the Gaza-Egypt border.

That would allow Hamas to resume smuggling weapons into Gaza, and to re-arm its forces.

Hamas also wanted changes in the timeline of the proposal regarding the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza.

Interesting. Sounds like the group this administration is championing has turned on them.

As an aside...Sticking point is that Israel stop fighting permanently. Craziest thing I would never have thought of.

Hamas chose to mess with the IDF bull, now they are getting the horns.

Carpet fire bomb Gaza.  Call it "urban renewal".  Rename Gaza City to New Dresden.

The IDF was not in Gaza on October 6th.

There was a ceasefire in place on October 6th.

If Hamas has a death wish, let's help them fulfill it.

If the Gazans allow Hamas to take them down with the Hamas ship, that's the Gazans fault for allowing Hamas to operate in Gaza.
