“Texas made an outstanding case for our right to defend our State and protect our property from destruction by the federal government,” said Attorney General Paxton.

State attorneys argued against the Biden administration in New Orleans Thursday in defense of Texas’ concertina wire fencing at the Texas-Mexico border.

Attorney General Ken Paxton released a statement detailing the progress made at the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals following yesterday’s arguments.

Paxton said, “We emphasized that a judge found that federal border officials destroyed our State’s property not to enforce federal law but rather to facilitate illegal border crossing.”

The attorney general’s statement also noted the Biden administration failed to be straightforward with the U.S. Supreme Court in reporting actions Texas took to increase border security.

To me if the Feds vacate their responsibilities by aiding and abetting illegality, the State has the right to take up those responsibilities and defend their borders.
The Republic is lost.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."
