Donald Trump: ‘I Am the Political Prisoner of a Failing Nation’

Elizabeth Weibel 4 Jun 2024

Former President Donald Trump described himself as being “the political prisoner of a failing nation,” days after a Manhattan jury found him guilty in his business records trial.

Trump posted a video on Truth Social on Tuesday, highlighting how November 5th was “the most important day in the history of our country.”

The video from the former president comes almost a week after a jury found him guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree related to payments Michael Cohen, Trump’s former fixer and attorney, had made to adult actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election.

“I am the political prisoner of a failing nation,” Trump began. “But, I will soon be free, on November 5th, the most important day in the history of our country. And, we will together, make America great again. Thank you.”

The only people who believe Donald Trump is tough are his MAGAs. They confuse mean tweets with fighting the left and government bureaucracy and continue to do so

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

The problem with being a disappointed martyr, the disappointment never ends.

Trump is the symptom, not the disease.

The disease is a Federal Government that no longer serves ALL the people and two political parties that put the interests of some before the interests of ALL.

The most diseased parts of our political system are the poltical parties.  On a national level, both are owned by Globalist Pirate Equity and Vulture Capital billionaires.

As a result, people are looking for their new Messiah. First Obama. Now Trump. And the results are disappointing

His sentencing is July 11th.  We will know then if he will be incarcerated or not.  Yes, I believe he was wrongfully accused without a doubt, but the fact still remains that as of right now, the leftists have him exactly where they want him.  Unless he wins on appeal or SCOTUS steps in (which I believe is doubtful), how can he claim to be free??

lol

You still stubbornly  believe that mean tweets at celebrities and dead senator’s daughters is the same as fighting the political left and entrenched bureaucracies

I can’t help you out of your fantasy. You’ve been schooled several times about this and you still hold on. We can teach you. But we can’t force you to learn

But you still believe that North Korea didn’t fire any missiles when Trump was president and that it was Trump that came up with the travel ban from Muslim countries first despite the evidence to the contrary, so there is that

But outside the MAGA Bubble, Trump is a snowflake

Perhaps, but I doubt any of us would behave particularly heroically once wrongfully convicted by a kangaroo court and threatened with prison.

If Trump is a "prisoner", where are the jail door bars, prison jumpsuit, and shackles?

What an F'ing drama queen.  Four more years of this drama and chaos is going to exhaust this nation.

Here is an example of what someone thinks of Trump after him being convicted:

"He’s the antihero, the Soprano, the 'Breaking Bad,' the guy who does bad things…but does them on behalf of the people he represents."

Trumpers always criticize other Republicans for being all talk and no action.  "All they ever do is give speeches, but nothing happens."  Yet, they love listening to Trump's own speeches, and tweets, and all the other mere words he uses about fighting the left.  The truth is that when he had the chance to actually do that, he failed.  Lots of talk, very little action.

You can't just fire people because of their political beliefs. Besides, why didn't Trump do it the first time around?

No, but if you throw all the bastards out this election, the newly elected sure as hell can.
The most clear cut opinion of the People is an overturning election. Seriously overturning... where incumbents ALL lose their tenure on BOTH sides of the aisle. It rings reform with all the finality of the broadaxe hitting the executioner's stump.

That isn't new. And he is far from the only one.
