Due to the secret service complexities I have a hard time seeing him get prison time. Especially when they really just need to keep him off the campaign trail and give him a new title, convicted fellon. My bet is six months house arrest, not allowed to leave the State, community service and a massive fine in the tens of millions.

My thinking is that it serves no purpose for President Trump to show up for the scheduled CNN debate this month.

The agreed upon barometers set, together with the recent conviction guarantee a circus, with Biden playing the lion tamer with a whip and a chair.

The Democrats and our 'PRAVDA' mainstream media have him painted firmly in the corner.

Any thoughts?  @NavyCanDo

My guess is that Biden will back out as he will not be onstage with a convicted felon...

@mystery-ak

That was my very first thought too...but we know that he'll be in a friendly venue and have all the questions ahead of time.

Plus, I understand that they will have the authority to turn off President Trump's microphone at any time, etc..

If Trump goes to prison after guilty verdict, Secret Service would have to go with him

Former President Trump was found guilty on felony charges Thursday, raising potential challenges for the Secret Service responsible for protecting him just as a top Democrat is seeking to yank that protection from him.

Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree in New York v. Trump. The charges were related to alleged payments made ahead of the 2016 presidential election to silence pornographic performer Stormy Daniels about an alleged 2006 extramarital sexual encounter with Trump. Trump denied all charges and any affair with Daniels.

But the conviction raises the possibility the presumed 2024 Republican nominee could end up being bars. That unprecedented development would raise a number of additional questions, including how his Secret Service protection would adapt.

One potential impediment to that protection could come from Democrats, who have introduced a bill in the House to strip Secret Service protection from convicted felons sentenced to prison.

Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., the ranking Democrat on the House Homeland Security Committee, introduced the Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable (DISGRACED) Former Protectees Act.

"Unfortunately, current law doesn’t anticipate how Secret Service protection would impact the felony prison sentence of a protectee — even a former President," Thompson said in a statement.

"It is regrettable that it has come to this, but this previously unthought-of scenario could become our reality."..............

The Bill will never hit the floor with Speaker Mike Johnson...at least I hope so..

Certainly not with Joe pumped with performance "enhancing" drugs and both Joe's earpiece and podium/watch wired with the answers to the questions and for live updates.

Johnson has proven that he's not trustworthy so I'm not so sure.

There hasn't been a whole lot of noise of opposition from the GOP Congress. I think that speaks volumes.  I realize it's an election year, but either you stand behind your presumptive nominee or your party continues to be fractured which has always been a huge problem for Trump. Some Senators have vowed to block Joe's nominees, but as far as I know that's about it and so far no one in the House has spoken out; even MTG has been silent.

There are people who have been wrongfully imprisoned for decades for crimes they did not commit, exonerated by DNA evidence. If they can't sue, nobody can

They have and won.

Well consider this...

If it looks like it's going to be overturned - which is likely - Biden can pardon him showing what a great guy he is. And by pardoning him it may kill the appeal.

Biden doesn't have it in him.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-
