Gaza Aid Pier Lasted Less Than Two Weeks Before Breaking Apart
The Trident Pier broke apart in rough seas with pieces of it and boats used to support it being scattered along the coastline.

America's pier that is being used to deliver aid to Gaza broke free and is now being recovered.

The Biden administration’s $320 million floating pier broke apart in heavy seas earlier today less than two weeks after being installed, delaying the flow of badly needed humanitarian aid to war-ravaged Gaza, the Pentagon announced.


"Over the next 40 hours, the Trident Pier will be removed from its anchor position on the coast and towed back to Ashdod where US Central Command will conduct repairs," Sabrina Singh, a Pentagon spokesperson, told reporters, including from The War Zone. "The rebuilding and repairing of the pier will take at least over a week." The pier will then be towed back and reinstalled, she added.

A satellite image taken Monday by Maxar, provided to The War Zone, shows the section of the Trident Pier furthest from the beach is missing. This landing area is where vessels drop off goods which are then transported by trucks across the long floating causeway and taken into Gaza. That section was recovered, Singh said.

A temporary structure broke loose. Well, it IS a temporary structure. Any floating dock that can't be pulled up on shore for storms is temporary.

That won't happen, now... or ever.
For nearly half the country, the blind leftism is literally baked into their DNA.
Even a blood transfusion won't get it out of them.

Having said that, I read elsewhere a claim that at least some of "the dock" had actually sunk.

Years from now, if there are still any real teachers in the military colleges, they'll mention this as one of the greater blunders in recent military history...

If you think of the pier construction as a form of welfare, construction keeps people working, it makes sense.  And the more they have to rebuild it, the longer the welfare. :thud:

Unfortunately, that welfare is being administered by our Armed Forces, who likely are absorbing at least some of the cost of that welfare, funds which will not go to our national defense.
