(Trump's) RNC called me, and asked for a donation
« on: May 29, 2024, 11:01:38 am »
I said "No."

They gave the diatribe about how terrible Biden is.  No argument there; Biden is terrible.

They ask me again, but for a smaller donation to put a "real" Republican like Trump in the White House.  I said "No" and told them "Trump is not a real Republican."

(Trump's) RNC got no money from me.  I'm not donating money to pay for a billionaire's legal bills.

"Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it’s entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end." - Alan Simpson, Frontline Video Interview

Every time I get a mailer from the RNC or the Trump campaign, I mail it back with a letter stating that when the day comes that Trump or the RNC decide to back a Conservative fiscal policy and stop running up massive deficits for the sole purpose of enriching the Democrat Party, then they can count on a donation from me.

I've been doing that for several years now.  Never a response.  Yet they keep canvassing.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

lol...

Anyone remember Bass Wrangler?  One of the funniest stunts he ever pulled was sending couch change to TOS for donation,

That would be my similar response.

In my work life, I had to register as a lobbyist, and also via work it was highly suggested to donate to our PAC.

20+ years later, I am still getting annoying calls.  Even each response seems to get more rude.

Thus caller ID. I never answer calls from political organizations.

Being retired, and occasionally bored, I'll make games out of these calls.

My coffee klatch formed a club many years ago, where we would have money pool tournments to see things like:

1. How long we could keep the telemarketer on the line.
2. Most innovative call
3. How many uses of the "word of the week" would be used in a call.

I was the grand champ of time length, with one call lasting one hour and 37 minutes.

Whenever I used to get a call from a telemarketer, I would hand the phone to one of my kids when they were really young

I get texts ever day, usually 3-5 texts.  I get people from Trump to Schiff asking for money.  The Schiff ones really crack me up!

No, I never bite.

How did you get on the Schiff  list? My wife gets bombarded with texts from different Republican candidates, but never one from a Democrat

One time, several years ago, I looked up some Dem candidate for verification of some nonsense. Don't remember who or why. But once I went on their website (not signed in in anyway) I was deluged with Dem contribution requests.

That sure makes you a real hero, doesn't it?  Both parties and all politicians and political activists are constantly asking for donations.   Wah, wah, wah.  Find something substantial to whine about, will you?

What was that meme from a few months ago for a donation?  I would rather get raped and pregnant by a _____ and give birth to a _____ thru my penis than donate to you.

I have never donated but I still get texts and emails.  It might be because I'm an "elected official."

I stopped contributing years ago to the RNC, NRSC, GOP and am no longer a registered Republican but I still get 4-5 texts if not more asking for money for Trump.  Don Jr., himself supposedly asks for money ... the latest was I needed to sign Trump's birthday card (3 text on that subject) and while I'm at it, send $$$ -- I keep blocking numbers and yet another text pops up.  They don't bother to call  -- just lousy ridiculous texts all wanting me to send some $$ to some political link. I've replied STOP several times to unsubscribe .... I'm sick to death of Trump texts.  I'm not voting for him anyways.  Nope.  Notta.  Not going to happen.

I have contributed to Cruz this year ... that's about it.    I'm done contributing for this election. My wallet is officially empty.
