Trump Endorses Freedom Caucus Chairman’s Primary Opponent

Former President Donald Trump endorsed the primary opponent of Republican Virginia Rep. Bob Good, the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, on Tuesday.

Trump announced his support behind Republican state Sen. John McGuire of Virginia via a post on Truth Social. Trump has often attacked Good in recent months after Good endorsed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for president in 2023.  (RELATED: Trump Announces He Will Commute Sentence Of ‘Silk Road’ Founder If Elected President)

The primary election for Virginia’s 5th Congressional District is just weeks away on June 18.

“Bob Good is BAD FOR VIRGINIA, AND BAD FOR THE USA. He turned his back on our incredible movement, and was constantly attacking and fighting me until recently, when he gave a warm and “loving” Endorsement – But really, it was too late,” Trump posted. “The damage had been done! I just want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and the person that can most help me do that is Navy Seal and highly respected State Legislator, John McGuire, a true American Hero. John, who fought the Cartels on the Front Line, and then came home and fought the drug dealers in Virginia, will ALWAYS PUT AMERICA FIRST.”

“Good won’t be electable when we get done with him,” Trump campaign manager Chris LaCivita said earlier this year, according to Cardinal News. Good endorsed Trump after DeSantis dropped out of the presidential race.....................

Maybe it’s time for the Republican Party to change its name.  Of course, many autocratic governments will refer to themselves as republics.

This is the kind of behavior that ended up costing Republicans a potential red wave in 2022

Remember how good the polls looked early that year? It wasn’t about whether there’s gonna be a red wave or not, but how massive would that wave be?

Trump is not interested in people that want to reign in the size and scope of government and get us on a sound monetary and fiscal policy. He wants people that will be loyal to him and his 2020 election theory. Nothing more

But it’s another example of Trump demanding loyalty to him and nothing else. Suppose this guy wins the primary and goes to Congress. The one time he tells Donald Trump no is when Donald Trump is going to go after him and insists  that he needs to be loyal to him because he made his political career

MAGA doesn’t require a voting record

Loyalty to Trump is good enough. Look at how many of them embrace Tulsi Gabbard, whose as far left as you can get

MAGA Will collapse eventually of its own weight. But we’re gonna have to suffer through them for a while. Movements that are based on loyalty to a man versus a cause don’t have staying  power

I didn't find any information on McGuire that shows he isn't Conservative.  He is a state senator.  :shrug:

yeah, at first, I thought Trump was butt hurt over the RDS endorsement, but I found out he endorsed Bob Good's primary opponent a few years back that lost, so I expect the same to happen here. Makes me think Trump just doesn't like Bob Good for some reason.

Trump needs to put country first period.  IF he wants MAGA, he needs help to retain and endorse as many conservatives as possible.

This is part of a pattern when it comes to Donald Trump. Good isn’t the only one that he’s doing this too for not properly worshiping him

He tried the same tactic with Chip Roy, Massie, Laurel Lee….


I’m starting to have admiration for people like Liz Cheney. It cost her her career. But at least she had the guts to stand  up to an insecure, tiny bully. Well, I’ll leave the tiny part up to Stormy Daniels
