California’s Wage Law Backlashes

California's decision to establish a new $20 minimum wage specifically for fast-food workers (effective from April 2024) marks a significant step toward reducing income disparity. This adjustment, formalized under Labor Code Section 1475, directly impacts fast-food establishments across the state.

Video with almost no actual article.

Bad news?  Isn't this good news?  California voters are actually getting what they voted for.  They should be ecstatic.

They hate businesses - Businesses are closing
They want wages set at a minimum where a person holding a job can live comfortably for doing as little work as possible - They got that.
They want to feel good about 'doing something'.  -  They got that, too.
They want to impose their moral code on others through government force - Another win.

Of course missing from this list is how their policies harm other people.  But then they really don't give a shit about anyone else but themselves.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-
