Judge denies Hunter Biden's motion to dismiss federal gun case
Biden is accused of lying about his drug use on a federal form when he purchased a firearm in October 2018

A federal judge on Friday denied Hunter Biden's request to dismiss a gun case against him that his lawyers argue is politically motivated.

U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika rejected all of Biden motions, which cited vindictive and selective prosecution, thereby moving the case forward to trial.

The son of President Biden is accused of lying about his drug use on a federal form when he bought a firearm in October 2018, a period when he has acknowledged struggling with addiction to crack cocaine.

He's pleaded not guilty.

Hunter Biden has acknowledged his struggles with substance abuse during that period, but his lawyers have said he didn't break the law and another nonviolent, first-time offender would not have been charged.

His lawyers have argued that prosecutors bowed to political pressure after an immunity provision from an original plea that fell apart was publicly pilloried by Republicans – including former President Trump – as a "sweetheart deal." Prosecutors have denied the case is motivated by politics.

Noreika has not yet ruled on a challenge to the constitutionality of the gun charges.

The trial is penciled in for jury selection for the week of June 3.

I will bet anything that Joe Biden has already signed a full pardon for Hunter Biden...in case he were to drop dead, or have a stroke, etc..

All that needs to be backdated or filled in is the effective date.

While some legal analysts continue to boost Hunter Biden’s legal claims, the reviews in actual courts are far less glowing. Recently, we discussed a federal judge rejecting all eight motions of Hunter Biden to dismiss his tax charges in a stinging opinion citing a conspicuous lack of actual evidence to support their claims. Now, U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika has also rejected those claims in the gun case in Delaware, calling Hunter’s arguments “nonsensical.”



Legal experts like MSNBC’s Andew Weissmann have slammed the gun charges as “an abuse.”

Hunter Biden’s counsel has argued selective prosecution and a bar on charges (based on the defunct notorious plea deal) in both cases.

While these arguments were given great credence on some networks, they were stomped on by actual judges applying the law to the case.

Abby Lowell and Hunter’s defense team have insisted that he is the victim of selective prosecution, but Special Counsel David Weiss has eviscerated those claims.

In a recent filing, Weiss dismissed many of Hunter’s claims as “patently false” and noted that he virtually flaunted his violations and engaged in obvious efforts to evade taxes and hide his crimes.

Would these same people hold the same opinions if it were Trump facing the same charges?  Not only no but hell no.  People would be screaming for the death penalty. :headbang:
