ROCKLAND - A man was arrested and charged with child rape at a hotel in Rockland being used to house migrants.

Cory Alvarez, 26, was arraigned Thursday on one count of aggravated rape of a child. He's being held without bail pending the outcome of a dangerousness hearing next week. Alvarez's defense attorney said he came here from Haiti and is part of the migrant system. ...

... Police said the person working at the front desk called 911 to report a disabled 15-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted. The victim, who speaks French Creole, told police through translators that Alvarez raped her in his room while she was getting help with an app on her tablet. Speaking in Creole — indicating she may also be from Haiti — the victim says she was raped in a hotel room by a man she identified as Alvarez.

NEW: Per law enforcement sources, the Haitian migrant who was charged with raping a 15-year-old girl at a migrant hotel outside of Boston in March was released from local custody yesterday after the Plymouth Superior Court gave him a low $500 bond & ignored ICE’s detainer request to hold him. I’m told ICE is currently trying to find and arrest this alleged child rapist right now - and that if he is wearing any GPS monitor as part of release conditions, the local/state jurisdictions don’t provide any information to ICE due to sanctuary policies in Massachusetts.

As we previously reported, Haitian National Cory Alvarez came into the U.S. lawfully via the Biden administration’s controversial CHNV parole program in June 2023. He flew directly into JFK airport - and was supposed to be with a sponsor in New Jersey, but somehow ended up in a migrant hotel in Rockland, MA, where he was arrested for the rape of the teen girl was and indicted by a grand jury in May.

A Haitian migrant accused of raping a 15-year-old at a Massachusetts shelter has been released on bail — despite a request from federal immigration officials to keep him in jail.

Cory Alvarez, who had been held without bail since his March arrest, was freed on a measly $500 bail on Tuesday after the Plymouth County Superior Court ignored a request from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to keep the suspect in custody, the Boston Herald reported.
 
Cory Alvarez, 26, was arrested for rape in March.
 
Alvarez was released following a dangerousness hearing, a spokesperson with the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office told The Post Friday.

“We then requested that Alvarez be held on $10,000 cash bail with numerous conditions of release. The judge set bail at $500,” they explained.

Bail set at $500 for rape!  The judge needs to be seriously reviewed.

I think we just may start to see a vigilante response to what is now happening on a frequent basis.
