ABC’s Hostin: ‘Republicans Are Intentionally Dumbing Down Our Electorate’ to Remain in Power

Pam Key 8 Jan 2024

ABC legal analyst Sunny Hostin told her co-hosts Monday on “The View” that Republicans were “intentionally dumbing down our electorate” to remain in power.

Hostin said, “What we’re seeing by the Republican Party, and I give it to them, we’re seeing a long game. We’re seeing that they are dismantling or attempting to dismantle institutions. All of a sudden, the most elite colleges and universities in the world, which, by the way, they all went to, everybody on the Supreme Court went there, Elise Stefanik went there, all the congresspeople went there, Ted Cruz went there. Those schools are not good enough anymore, I think, because now people that don’t look like them were getting in. Affirmative action, no more, why? So that people that don’t look like them don’t get in. Women don’t have reproductive rights anymore over their own bodies. Why? So they can have power over women. Why is French and, Mandarin and Spanish being taken away from our public schools? So that we can be a monolingual society and can’t compete globally.”

She added, “The Republicans are intentionally dumbing down our electorate, erasing history so that past can become prologue, and they can remain in power. It’s grievance politics at its best, and it’s because people see what Sara was saying. I can’t pay my electric bill. My gas bill’s high. I need my food. Why is that? Why is my station in life like this? It’s because that black guy got into Harvard and became president, or it’s because that immigrant is over there doing better, driving a nicer car than I’m driving. It’s grievance politics, but culture wars specific. I wish people could see it in that way because this is not by accident.”

Damn, so the vast majority of school boards, principals, vice principals, councilors, teachers, librarians and those who choose the textbooks used are republicans?

Obviously

Democrats are doing the very thing they falsely accuse others of doing.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

I need a couple of showers to wash off that Orwellian doublespeak.

Both parties need a certain amount of ignorance of their voters to win elections. And, to convince enough people that to vote for the opposition will mean the end of our country
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

Her party is an expert at playing grievance politics

Plus, it’s obvious that she doesn’t understand where inflation comes from. Inflation isn’t caused because the black guy got into Harvard. Nor is it caused by an immigrant doing well.

It is always Sunny in Hostin
You don’t become cooler with age but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool.

Calling Hostin a "legal analyst" is like calling Chris Christie  a "Playgirl Pin Up".
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

Her diatribe is right there itself grievance politics, pitting Rat constituents against those not, acting like only their people matter, and that those people are even close to a majority.

It's the Dems that are brainwashing the youth with Global Climate Change, DEI, CRT, and Bolshevism nonsense.

It's Dem schoolboards, principals, and teachers that removed Civics from public education curricula.

Thank you for that metaphoric imagery.

If it wasn't for the Briefing Room, I wouldn't know that someone named "Sunny Hostin" even existed...
