I'm THIS old...but ours wasn't a "MAYTAG"...and was in an unfinished basement in front of the stationery tub and floor drain...6.5ft ceiling 6 feet from the laundry chute!!   :laugh:

Those were at a premium around here for years. Even the gas powered ones were used to wash dirty coveralls out on the rigs.
