#HighSurf - Watch when a rogue wave hits the beach at the end of Seward Ave in the City of Ventura. This occurred during the high surf advisory at high tide. Because of this wave eight people were transported to local hospitals. Currently the beaches are closed in Ventura County and so is the Ventura Pier. For your safety, please avoid the area near the ocean, as it can be quite dangerous. Video credit: Ventura Police Department and the City of Ventura. @Ventura_PD

Being stupid should hurt.

You don’t become cooler with age but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool.

I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.

Problem in, there are long lines of stupids who will contend those who got hurt just didn't do it right...
We see that in politics, too.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
