Manchin: Biden ‘Not the Person We Thought’ He Was in 2020, He’s Gone ‘So Far’ Left

Ian Hanchett 15 Nov 2023

During an interview aired on Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Source,” Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) stated that President Joe Biden is “not the person we thought” he was when he was elected in 2020 and Biden has “been pushed so far to the left” after being “elected being a centrist and moderate.”

After strongly criticizing 2024 Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump, Manchin said, “And then, I’ve been, to a certain extent, on President Biden, he’s not the person we thought that was…elected being a centrist and moderate. He’s been pushed so far to the left. So, if we have this movement in the middle, maybe we can pull people back to a commonsense middle to where they can go.”

Manchin added that a second Trump term would be worse than a second Biden term and he isn’t going to be and doesn’t want to support any spoilers.

He further stated, “You cannot run your life from the extremes. You’re not going to be successful. It’s very difficult. You’re not going to have a successful business if you’re in the extremes. And you can’t continue to run this country. You can’t have open borders, you can’t have the runaway debt, you can’t have the problems that we have, the challenges, crime, all of the things that we’ve got to fight. We’ve got two of our allies fighting for their life in Israel and Ukraine right now that we’re trying to prevent ourselves from getting pulled into a war. There’s so much going on. President Biden has worked well overseas with our NATO allies. I think he’s done a good job. But, right now, it’s going to be very serious, but we’ve got to get our financial house in order. We’ve got to secure our borders. And also, on top of that, we have an awful lot of people that come here that need to have work visas so they can pay their own way and pay taxes rather than just sucking off the system.”

Another issue were conservatives are being proven right

We warned that the far left of his party would  control a cognitively weakened Biden should he be elected.
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

 Manchin ‘considering’ leaving Democratic party
by Tiah Shepherd - 11/15/23 11:06 PM ET

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) suggested Wednesday that he is “considering” leaving the Democratic party in comments made just one week after he announced that he would not seek reelection to the Senate.

During an interview on CNN, anchor Kaitlan Collins pressed the West Virginia senator on whether he was thinking about leaving the party after expressing disdain for what he called the “business of politics.”

“The business of politics has gotten so big because the business model is a Democrat business and a Republican business and it’s really forgotten about the people to a certain extent,” Manchin said.

“All they want is 51 or greater to be the majority and then they do so much damage trying to get there,” he continued.

When first asked if was going to leave the Democratic party, Manchin stressed that he has always been an “independent” thinker and voter over the course of an almost 40-year-long political career.

“I’ve never considered myself a Washington Democrat,” Manchin said. “I’ve been a very independent person.”

He has a point.  Biden was obnoxious during judicial confirmations, but as a senator he was not a radical on matters of human sexuality or illegal immigration, and nor would he have accepted the massive deficits we see today.  It seems to be a case of elder abuse on the part of his staff.

President Jell-O Brain is trying to be cool with the progressive youths and the DNC megadonors.

The Dems have accomplished less for African-American supporters than they have for Global Climate Change supporters.  Could cost them underwhelmed Afican-American voter turnout.

Biden has always been a bold in your face liar.

People of that sort should be nowhere near power over others.

Only fools voted for him.

Ol' Weathervane Joe Manchin. Nothing new under the sun.
