Trump likes monuments to himself. Look at Trump Towers as an example. There's a very good chance that "caring about how he's written about in the history books" would involve him proposing a new government program we can ill afford, like the LBJ did with the Great Society or Obama did with Obamacare. Presidents, like Calvin Coolidge, did boring things like put us on sound fiscal footing and grew the economy. But FDR, he's the one with the New Deal and SS. How many people do you think even know who Coolidge was?

Unfortunately, he didn't take full advantage of his super majority and was unable to make the negotiations across the aisle that were very much needed and therefore for the most part, none of his policies took hold. Brandon was able to dismantle them the moment he took office.

He ran up the deficit, he FAILED to complete the border wall, which was the issue he ran on and he absolutely FAILED to calm the riots which he promised to do. This country continues to suffer from his failures.

No, we don't need another 4 years of Trump who has stated he will be out for revenge. Where would that leave our country??

This! This is the very reason Trump will never go down in the history books as a great president, he is not a uniter of Americans beyond his own base as Reagan and other great Presidents were. What seems to be the very thing that endears him to his base(and admittedly me once) is that he is a "bomb thrower", but that very thing is what keeps him from being a uniter and achieving lasting results and it gets old really fast especially when the bombs are hurled at conservative members of his own? party.

Great point.  Trump has attacked viciously any Republican who doesn't kowtow to him.  He even endorsed Stacey Abrams over Brian Kemp because Kemp doesn't like him.  And Trump himself said he wouldn't support other GOP nominees if they won the nomination.

I’d agree.  Trump has some good qualities and some good accomplishments.  It’s just on balance he shoots himself in the foot.  Ruins everything by burning bridges, etc.
