When Israel began conducting airstrikes in Gaza, everyone knew there was going to be displacement. The military operation comes after Hamas invaded Israel on October 7, murdering 1,200-1,400 civilians in a coordinated assault involving well over 1,000 terrorists. The level of barbarity was unprecedented, leading to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu forming a unity government that aims to destroy Hamas. On October 28, the ground invasion began, leading to scores of Palestinians attempting to make their way south to safety. Hamas shot some who tried to flee.

As the Left rages against Israel, hurling antisemitic slurs and chanting for more Jews to die, some might want to consider why the civilians have nowhere to go. Okay, maybe these folks do know but don’t care, but liberals are historically illiterate, so who knows? It goes beyond geography. The Palestinians bring trouble and have a long, sordid history of fomenting mayhem and terrorism in other Arab nations.

Egypt is the logical destination for these Palestinians, but Cairo doesn’t want them, and for good reason: terrorism. The border crossing at Rafah remains closed, with tanks now deployed to ensure their border is secure. Egypt’s prime minister even said his country is willing to sacrifice millions to ensure no Palestinians ever enter Egypt en masse (via WSJ):

Biden Hints at Conditioning Aid to Israel on Reducing Bombs in Gaza

President Joe Biden on Friday hinted that he was considering conditioning aid to Israel on its military reducing bombing in Gaza in its offensive against the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.

During a press conference on Friday, a reporter asked him, “Mr. President, there are members of your party who would like to see conditions placed on aid to Israel. What is your view on that? They would like to see, you know, a reduction in the bombing and that sort of thing.”

Biden indicated that it could be considered later down the road.

“Well, I think that’s a — a worthwhile thought, but I don’t think if I started off with that we’d ever gotten to where we are today,” he said, adding, “We have to take this a piece at a time.”

The idea that Biden could condition aid to Israel would be a politically risky move, since the U.S. is Israel’s top ally, and that would alienate Jewish supporters who support the offensive.

Watch: 9-year-old Ohad Munder runs into his father's arms after release by Hamas


Nine-year-old Ohad Munder, his mother Keren, 55, and his grandmother Ruti, 78, returned to Israel on Friday night after they were freed from Gaza.

In a video released by the Schneider Medical Center, at the family's request and with their permission, Ohad is seen running down a hospital corridor straight into his waiting father's arms.

Ohad and his family were released by Hamas on Friday as part of a cease-fire deal in which the terror group will free 50 hostages taken captive in the Oct. 7 attack on Israel in exchange for 150 Palestinian prisoners held by the Jewish state.

Ohad turned nine while he was held captive in Gaza. The fourth-grader from the central Israeli city of Kfar Saba was kidnapped along with his mother and grandparents during a holiday visit to his grandparents’ kibbutz of Nir Oz along the border with Gaza.

His grandfather, Avraham Munder, remains in Gaza.

Egyptian officials say Hamas will release 14 hostages for 42 Palestinian prisoners

Egyptian officials say that Hamas is preparing to release 14 more Israeli hostages on Saturday in exchange for 42 Palestinians imprisoned in Israel, the Associated Press reported.

The second exchange comes on day two of a four-day cease-fire agreed to by both sides after mediation by U.S., Qatari and Egyptian officials.

On Friday, Hamas released 24 of the about 240 hostages taken during its Oct. 7 attack on Israel that triggered the war, and Israel freed 39 Palestinians from prison. Those freed from captivity in Gaza were 13 Israelis, 10 Thais and a Filipino.

On Saturday, Hamas provided mediators Egypt and Qatar a list of 14 hostages to be released, and the list has been passed along to Israel, an Egyptian official told the Associated Press. A second Egyptian official confirmed the details, the agency reported.

Under the terms of the truce, Hamas will release one Israeli hostage for every three Palestinian prisoners Israel frees. Israel has suggested that the cease-fire might be extended one day for every 10 additional hostages released.

But Israel has vowed to continue its war to eradicate Hamas once the cease-fire has expired.

Negotiations are underway to extend the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas “by a day or two,” Israel’s Channel 12 reported, citing a report from Egypt’s Al-Cahra Al-Akhbariya channel.

The effort comes as the second wave of at least 13 Israeli hostages are set to be released by the terror group in exchange for 42 Palestinian prisoners.

“Egypt has received positive indications from all sides to extend the cease-fire,” the report allegedly said.

Yoni Asher clutched onto his wife, Doron, and daughters Raz, 4, and two-year-old Aviv, at the Schneider Children’s Medical Center in Petah Tikva, a video shared by the hospital showed.

Doron, Raz, and Aviv were abducted by Hamas from Doron’s mother’s house in Kibbutz Nir Oz on Oct. 7, the Times of Israel noted.

Doron’s mother, Efrat Katz, was killed by the terrorists in the surprise attack, the outlet added.

At one point during the family of four’s reunion, Raz could be heard telling her father that she dreamed about going home.

“Your dream came true. Soon we are going home. We are just here for the doctors to check you, and then we’re going home,” Yoni said.

American citizens are not expected to be part of the second group of hostages released Saturday, a US official told CNN.

“The President secured the release of two American citizens as the pilot to this larger release of hostages. We are early in the process that will see at least 50 women and children released during the first phase of the agreement,” a White House official said.

“We are hopeful that will include three dual national women and children, who are American citizens. This will unfold over the coming days. We will not comment on individual cases as the process is underway.”

The release of the second group of Israeli hostages has apparently been delayed, Israel’s Channel 12 reported.

While the exact reason for the delay is unclear if may be because officials are waiting for the completion of the aid truck deliveries into the Gaza Strip, the outlet speculated.

There is also possible conflict over whether Hamas will release 13 or 14 hostages, Channel 12 added.

Hamas located 10-20 additional hostages for potential release: report

Hamas has located an additional 10 to 20 hostages that it could potentially release, Haaretz reported Saturday.

If the claims are true, Israel may extend the cease-fire by an additional day or two in order to secure the hostages release, the outlet explained.

Israeli officials estimated that Hamas has the capacity to released around 30 more hostages in addition to the agreed-upon 50 within the current negotiation terms.
