On Sunday Israeli warplanes struck two refugee camps, killing at least 53 people and wounding dozens in central Gaza, the zone where Israel’s military had urged Palestinian civilians to seek refuge, health officials said.

Security Council to hold talks on ‘worsening situation’ in Gaza
Times of Israel, Nov 6, 2023

The UN Security Council will hold another emergency meeting tomorrow to discuss the latest developments in the Israel-Hamas war.

“In light of the worsening situation in Gaza and the attack on the Al-Shifa Hospital and repeated attacks on Jabalia refugee camp, the UAE and China called for closed consultations to be convened tomorrow 6 November at 3 p.m.,” a spokesperson for the UAE’s mission to the UN tweets.

Divisions in the Security Council have prevented the body from doing more than holding meetings to talk about the war.

Several resolutions calling for “humanitarian pauses” have failed to receive the necessary votes in order to pass.

Gaza escape: More than 300 Americans have gotten outfrom under Hamas, White House official says

More than 300 Americans and their family members have managed to get out of the war-torn Gaza Strip, a White House official says.

Deputy National Security Adviser Jonathan Finer made the remark on CBS’ "Face the Nation" program Sunday and said the figure included "Americans, lawful permanent residents and their family members."

"This is obviously a major priority, and one that we're going to continue to work out until every American who wants to leave is able to do so," he continued.

Fox News last week obtained a list of 400 names of U.S. citizens cleared to leave Gaza as the Israel-Hamas war rages on.

At least 10 Americans also are feared to be among the 242 people held captive by Hamas inside Gaza. Finer said negotiations remain ongoing for their release. Israel believes that the hostages are being held under Gaza City in a network of Hamas tunnels, Fox News' Trey Yingst reported Monday.

No matter what or how they do it, any so called 'ceasefire' will result in Hamas celebrating and claiming victory.
Any ceasefire would be a Hamas victory. It would mean that Hamas invaded Israel and got away with it.
Any ceasefire would certainly lead to more attacks from every direction. It would signal that Israel can be defeated.

The United Nations called for an "immediate" cease-fire in Israel's war against Hamas on Monday, saying the conflict had gone on long enough.

“We need an immediate humanitarian cease-fire. It’s been 30 days. Enough is enough. This must stop now," the U.N. wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

"United Nations and civil society leaders call for more aid to be allowed into Gaza, the immediate release of hostages & respect for humanitarian & human rights law," it added.

White House gates left defaced by graffiti from pro-Palestinian activists

Gates to the White House vandalized by demonstrators taking part in this weekend's pro-Palestinian protests have yet to be cleaned up as of Monday morning.

"Today, the National Park Service in coordination with the White House Historical Association are coordinating the removal of the spray paint," a spokesperson for Washington, D.C.'s Metropolitian Police Department (MPD) told Fox News Digital.

Photos at an entry gate north of the White House show red handprints smeared across the bricks, pro-Palestine stickers and messages advocating to "free Palestine" in the aftermath of demonstration in Washington, D.C., Saturday.

"At the time, demonstrators attempting to vandalize and trespass at the vehicle gate were addressed without incident by our Uniformed Division officers and support teams," the MPD spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters descending on Washington over the weekend, marching on the White House, defacing multiple statues and wrapping Palestinian flags around a statue of Benjamin Franklin.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., is accusing President Biden of "complicity" in the deaths of children in the Middle East.

The progressive House "Squad" member has leveled a barrage of criticism against the leader of her party over his response to the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, even as she fields criticism from fellow Democrats over her own reaction to the crisis.

"You see this right?" Tlaib wrote to Biden on her Instagram Story on Sunday afternoon. She had shared a report from an outlet known as TCD News claiming that an Israeli airstrike had killed three children in South Lebanon.

"Your silence is deafening. Your complicity is even worse," Tlaib wrote. "A whole generation of children is being wiped out in front of us."

Biden, Netanyahu don't agree on need for 'humanitarian pause' amid Gaza offensive

WASHINGTON – President Biden did not reach an agreement during his call Monday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the need for a humanitarian pause in the Israel-Hamas war.

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said the US would “continue to advocate for temporary, localized pauses in the fighting.”

The Palestinian death toll in the Israel-Hamas war has surpassed 10,000, including more than 4,100 children and 2,640 women, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza.

Asked whether the toll gave the US pause for its staunch support for Israel, Kirby said, “I think we all need to remember who they’re fighting,” and referenced Hamas’ Oct. 7 incursion into Israel that killed 1,400 people and started the war.

He insisted “no country” would tolerate such an attack “without a swift and aggressive response,” but said the US was having “frank” conversations with Israel about trying to reduce the civilian death toll.
