Some 20 metric tons of drugs worth nearly half a billion dollars seized by the U.S. Coast Guard were offloaded in Fort Lauderdale Thursday.

The nearly $445 million in illegal drugs were dropped off at Port Everglades, officials said.

Maybe. I'm not questioning the integrity of those who have seized and stored those drugs,but what happens to them now? 
They are in the country.
Will they be destroyed, and if so, how?

Do not say where or when or where they are stored.
That would be an insane security risk.
To someone that represents nearly half a billion dollars, and that would hire an army with plenty of room for profit.
