White House reveals why Biden canceled meeting with Egypt, Jordan, Palestine

Following the attack on a hospital in Gaza City which reportedly killed hundreds, the summit between Joe Biden, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Amman, Jordan was cancelled.

The White House released a statement saying that the meeting will be postponed after Abbas announced days of mourning and will be rescheduled to a later date while Biden is in the Middle East.

"After consulting with King Abdullah II of Jordan and in light of the days of mourning announced by President Abbas of the Palestinian Authority, President Biden will postpone his travel to Jordan and the planned meeting with these two leaders and President Sisi of Egypt.

"The President sent his deepest condolences for the innocent lives lost in the hospital explosion in Gaza, and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded. He looks forward to consulting in person with these leaders soon, and agreed to remain regularly and directly engaged with each of them over the coming days," the White House said.

500 people have died after the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital was hit by a rocket and exploded in Gaza.

Israel’s Defence Force IDF says the explosion at the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in northern Gaza was caused by a failed rocket launch by Hamas.

Palestinian authorities however dispute the claim that it was a misfired rocket. Instead they have claimed it was an Israeli air strike.

Live video from Al Jazeera Arabic earlier tonight shows a rocket being fired from within Palestinian territory and hitting the hospital.

The IDF has said it is investigating the incident while the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has called for 3 days of public mourning.

Around 350 wounded have been rushed to Gaza City’s al-Shifa hospital after the blast.

Turkey, Iran, Jordan, Qatar and the World Health Organisation claimed the bombing was an ‘attack’- blaming the Israeli air-force. The Israeli Foreign Ministry have also blamed a Hamas misfired rocket for the attack.  ...

National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby shared a video to X discussing President Joe Biden's plans and goals for his trip to Israel, which he will leave for Tuesday night.

Biden will be stopping in Tel Aviv, Israel and Amman, Jordan to discuss how important it is for the U.S. and its allies to support Israel in its fight against Hamas.

"We'll also send a strong signal of deterrence to any other actors in the region that might try to widen or deepen the conflict," Kirby said.

Iran warns of ‘another shockwave’ on Israel if Gaza strikes don’t stop

A top Iranian commander warned Israel on Tuesday it will face “another shockwave” of attacks by militant groups if the country doesn’t halt its relentless bombardment of Gaza.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards deputy commander-in-chief, Ali Fadavi, made the chilling threat after an attack on a refugee camp took out a top Hamas commander.

“The resistance front’s shocks against the Zionist regime will continue until this ‘cancerous tumor’ is eradicated from the world map,” Fadavi said, according to Iranian news agency Fars.

Meanwhile, Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, blamed the US for Israel’s retaliatory strikes on the enclave — as he called the assault a “genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.”

“Our numerous intelligence reports show that the US is formulating the Zionist regime’s current policy and what is being done is governed by US policymaking. The US must be held responsible for this situation,” Khamenei said in a speech posted on X.

Wow. According to the IDF spokesperson it was PIJ rocket that hit the hospital. This is very specific. I guess there is concrete intelligence that indicates it was the PIJ #Gaza #Hospital

Whoa: Israeli media is reporting that the IDF has a recording of a conversation between Islamic Jihad terrorists confirming that they launched the rocket that hit the Gaza hospital.   It will reportedly be released shortly.

Israel in Talks with SpaceX for Starlink During Gaza War

Israel’s Communications Ministry announced on Tuesday that it is in discussions with SpaceX to deploy Starlink internet services.

The move aims to bolster wartime communications as Israel prepares for a possible ground invasion in the Gaza Strip. This development comes in the wake of a deadly cross-border invasion on October 7, which resulted in the deaths of more than 1,400 Israelis, primarily civilians.

According to a spokesperson for Israel’s Communications Ministry, the Starlink services would ensure uninterrupted internet access for towns on the front lines. This would mark the first time Israel has relied on Starlink, which would serve as a backup if other systems are disrupted, reports Bloomberg.

The ministry is also contemplating the disconnection of internet and phone services to Gaza. Additionally, it confirmed plans to close the Israel offices of the Qatari state-owned news network Al-Jazeera, accusing it of serving as a platform for “Hamas propaganda, incitement, and harm to national security during wartime.”

Russia, UAE call for UN Security Council meeting on Gaza hospital bombing

Russia and the United Arab Emirates called for a United Nations Security Council meeting on the Gaza hospital bombing that took place Tuesday.

According to Russia's U.N. deputy, Dmitry Polyansky, the meeting of the security council was expected to take place Wednesday afternoon.

The meeting will be "in connection with the attack on a hospital in Gaza," Polyansky said.

Yesterday, Russia drafted an unsuccessful U.N. Security Council resolution the country claimed was calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Countries ripped Russia for its proposal not mentioning nor condemning Hamas.
