I don't think that's what they'll do.  They're not going to level every building and drive every person into the sea.  That would be killing literally millions of people.

What they may well do is push through the entire Gaza Strip, search every building, kill any members of Hamas they find, destroy all munitions, equipment, etc..   And I don't think they'll be too squeamish if some of them are hiding in mosques, either.

But the goal will still be to target combatants and equipment.  Obviously, there will always be the issue of some of the Hamas foot soldiers just dropping anything identifying themselves as combatants, etc., but they all will at least be disarmed.

President Biden said Wednesday that he has seen “confirmed pictures of terrorists beheading children” in southern Israel following reports that up to 40 babies were butchered over the weekend near the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip – but the White House later walked back the commander in chief’s claim.

“I never really thought that I would see and have confirmed pictures of terrorists beheading children. I never thought I’d ever — anyway,” Biden, 80, told leaders of Jewish groups at the White House Wednesday.

But neither the president nor US officials have seen images or independently confirmed reports of beheaded children, a White House spokesperson later clarified, according to the Washington Post.

The White House says that Biden based his remark on claims made by a spokesman for Israel’s prime minister and media reports coming out of the Jewish state.

The sickening reports emerged Tuesday as the Israeli military offered journalists tours of areas ravaged by Hamas’ Saturday morning surprise attack, which left more than 1,200 civilians and Israeli troops dead and about 150 believed abducted — with at least 22 Americans dead and 17 others still unaccounted for.

A senior White House national security aide told reporters immediately following the event that he had not seen the images to which Biden was referring.

Nearly a dozen aid workers have been killed in Gaza since last Saturday, when Israel began shelling the territory in the wake of Hamas terrorist attacks, the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees said Wednesday.

“I am very saddened to confirm that 11 UNRWA colleagues have been killed since 7 October in the Gaza Strip,” said Jenifer Austin, deputy director of Gaza affairs for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency.

“They included five teachers at UNRWA schools, one gynecologist, one engineer, one psychological counselor and three support staff,” Austin added. “Some were killed in their homes with their families.”  .  .  .

Egypt warned Israel about an attack from Hamas three days before the weekend assault, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) said on Wednesday.

“We know that Egypt has warned the Israelis three days prior that an event like this could happen,” McCaul told reporters after a closed-door intelligence briefing focused on the war, according to the Guardian. “I don’t want to get too much into classified [details], but a warning was given. I think the question was at what level.”

The Texas Republican reportedly added that the attack may have been planned as far back as a year ago. "We’re not quite sure how we missed it. We’re not quite sure how Israel missed it."

Israeli military says 222 soldiers killed in war on Hamas, work underway to identify civilian bodies

The Israeli military has identified the vast majority of soldiers killed by Hamas terrorists so far in the ongoing war, Israeli Defense Forces said Thursday.

A total of 222 Israeli soldiers have died and their families have all been notified, a spokesperson for the military said.

The Israeli military keeps databases of fingerprints and dental scans and each soldier carries a dogtag to help identify those that fall in combat, according to the Times of Israel.

Identification of civilians killed by Hamas has been more difficult. As of Thursday, a total of 854 bodies of civilians were brought to the IDF rabbinate base for identification, the paper reported.

Only 361 bodies were identified and 264 have been buried.

"Before authorities clear a body for burial, DNA tests and pictures must be taken, which are then run through various national databases. In some cases, families are being asked to come in to identify their loved ones," the report said.

More than 1,300 Israeli civilians are believed to have been killed by Hamas since surprise terror attack on Saturday.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken says 25 Americans were killed in Israel-Hamas war

Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed Thursday that at least 25 Americans were killed in the violence after Hamas infiltrated Israel on Saturday.

"Tragically, the number of innocent lives claimed by Hamas as heinous attacks continues to rise. Among those, we now know that at least 25 American citizens were killed," Blinken said at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel.

More than 2,400 Israelis and Palestinians have been killed in the Middle East since terrorist group Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on Israel Saturday morning.

As of Thursday morning, Israel Defense Forces said more than 1,200 Israelis are dead and at least 3,000 are wounded.

In addition to the Israeli deaths, 1,203 Palestinians have been killed since Saturday morning and 5,763 have been wounded, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

The war between Israel and Hamas entered its sixth day on Thursday.

White House national security spokesman John Kirby was asked point-blank why the United States hasn’t evacuated Americans from Israel when other countries have already begun flying out their citizens.

Multiple airlines cancelled flights to and from Israel Monday, days after Hamas launched a series of attacks that have killed over a 1,000 people, including 22 Americans, according to The Associated Press. President Joe Biden advised Americans in Israel to book flights out of the country hours after the airlines announced the cancellation.

“I want to start with the efforts to get Americans out of Israel right now,” “NewsNation” chief White House correspondent Blake Burman told Kirby. “I think Sen. Josh Hawley sort of summed it up what many people are asking. Here’s a social media post he put out, Here’s that quote: ‘For the second time in two years, Americans are stranded in a war zone. What’s the plan to get them out? How can you answer that question?’”

“Well a couple of things here: First of all, commercial flights are still going in and out of Ben Gurion airport, so that’s always an option for those who may want to leave,” Kirby said.

Berman pressed Kirby, noting that several other countries, including Fiji and Hungary, already had evacuated their citizens from Israel.

“How was it that we are seemingly behind several countries on this front?” Berman asked Kirby.

“I think I would take issue with you that we’re behind anybody here. We have been exploring options and continue to do that,” Kirby responded.

Biden came under fire for hosting a barbeque for White House staff Sunday as Israel began carrying out military operations against Hamas.

Hamas planned the devastating terror attack on Israel for two years while pretending to be governing Gaza — but was “surprised” at being able to kidnap and slaughter so many, according to an exiled leader.

Ali Barakeh, a member of the terror group’s exiled leadership in Lebanon, said key members intentionally projected a “rational” image to the world to hide its sinister intentions.

“We made them think that Hamas was busy with governing Gaza, and that it wanted to focus on the 2.5 million Palestinians [in Gaza], and has abandoned the resistance altogether,” Barakeh told Russia Today TV.

“All the while, under the table, Hamas was preparing for this big attack.”

To help keep it from Israeli intelligence, only “a limited number of Hamas leaders knew it” was coming, Barakeh told the pro-Kremlin channel.

“The zero hour was kept completely secret,” he said.

“The number of people who knew about the attack and its timing could be counted on one hand.”

Hamas terrorists left ISIS flags during their murderous rampage, according to Israel — repeating the claim that “Hamas is worse than ISIS.”

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) shared a photo of one of the Islamic State’s distinctive black flags supposedly left at one of the many scenes of carnage, with other reports saying some were left flying.

“Hamas brought ISIS flags to massacre Israeli children, women and men,” the IDF wrote.

“Hamas is a genocidal terrorist organization. Hamas is worse than ISIS.”

The photo comes just days after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu likened Hamas to ISIS in a fiery speech, in which he vowed that the Jewish nation’s retaliation against the terrorist organization for the killing and kidnapping of civilians “will reverberate with them for generations.”

“The atrocities carried out by Hamas have not been seen since the atrocities of ISIS — children bound and executed with the rest of their families, young girls and boys shot in the back, executed, and other atrocities that I will not describe here,” he said in a televised speech Monday.

“Hamas terrorists bound, burned, and executed children. They are savages,” Netanyahu declared. “Hamas is ISIS.

 Dad living in Israel recounts relief at learning daughter died: Being kidnapped by Hamas is ‘worse than death’

An Irish father living in Israel said he was relieved when he heard the news of his 8-year-old daughter’s death at the hands of Hamas, insisting it was a “blessing” compared to the alternative of her being held captive and savagely tortured by the terrorists.

Thomas Hand recounted the moment that he learned the news of his daughter Emily’s death in an interview on CNN on Wednesday.

“They just said, ‘We found Emily, she’s dead,’ and I went, ‘Yes,'” he said.

“I went ‘Yes,’ and smiled because that is the best news of the possibilities that I knew. The best possibility that I was hoping for,” he said.

Hand added that his daughter’s death was better than any other situation that could have happened.

“She was either dead or in Gaza, and if you know anything about what they do to people in Gaza, that is worse than death, that is worse than death,” the grieving father said. “The way they treat you, they have no food, they have no water.”

“She’d be in a dark room with Christ who knows how many people and terrified every minute, hour, day and possible years to come,” he cried out. “So death was a blessing, an absolute blessing.”
