We had a local newspaper that printed an editorial, at the time GWB was pushing for tax cuts, that claimed that Reagan got his tax cuts in 1980 and we had a recession.

I sent them an email at the time not only explaining why were went into recession at that time but pointed out Reagan wasn't president in 1980

DeSantis isn't immune from any COVID criticism but Trump doesn't have the credibility to make it an issue

That seems to be a common theme among Democrats.  They just blurt out the first thing that pops in their heads.  I have had Democrats tell me that George Wallace was a Republican, or that the Dred Scott decision was handed down by a Republican Supreme Court, or that Donald Trump had the greatest economic expansion in US history.  All lies.   All easily disproved.  Yet they come forth from these mouths as easily as breathing for the rest of us.

Last evening, Ronny blamed Trump for today's inflation and demanded an explanation.  I would now like Ronny to explain why, if Trump was committing an egregious economic misstep,  he wrapped his sweaty lips around the government teat and sucked billions from the Trump administration, and continued to feed off the Biden administration, as well.

Is it not reasonable to want to know why a man of such "courage" as Ronny DeSantis did not rise in clarion opposition to the spending instead of feasting on it for two years?

If Christie, Pence, or Haley are the favorites of the GOPe, then why isn't the GOPe helping them?  Everything they have done up to this point helps one candidate and one candidate only.  The same candidate they helped in 2016.

From what I have read here (thanks to all for the play by play) and elsewhere, it sounds like this debate was a train wreck that I'm glad I missed. I can get discouraged at times with politics and this sounds like one of those times.

There is absolutely nothing inconsistent with the governor of a red state opposing a federal spending program, but nevertheless taking the money for his state if the spending happens anyway.  The people of his state are being taxes for that spending, or at a minimum, are incurring their share of an increased burden of a growing federal debt.  It would be manifestly unfair to the citizens of that state to pay for a program whose benefits go only to other states, but whose burdens they must bear anyway.
