DeSantis is a very clear threat to Trump, otherwise there wouldn't have been the cowbells during DeSantis' speech, nor would Trump have started bullying him even before he announced he was running. His supporters are acting just as Donald has led them to. I can't help but wonder if they are supporters or cultists?

Pro-Trump websites like the Conservative Nuthouse absolutely love this.   They view it as Trump and his supporters "getting it".  They're out to destroy his opposition, which they consider a sign of strength.

All I can surmise is that they believe that they don't need the votes of anyone but the ultra-MAGA crowd to win.  Alienating other GOP candidates and their supporters is inconsequential.

I guess we'll find out who is right eventually.

Bottom line for me is Trump has gone after both DeSantis and Reynolds who are both conservatives.  Trump going after conservatives is troubling and people following his direction rather than thinking for themselves is even more troubling.

IMO, DeSantis supporters aren't really angry with Trump or MAGA supporters ---- they're angry with DeSantis for not being the man he said he was.

DeSantis failed to take control.  He knew voices in the crowd were shouting "we love Trump" while liberals were blowing whistles and banging cowbells in support of LGBT and abortion.  Yet, DeSantis relied on a schoolmarm to scold the crowd while he sat there staring at his feet ---- looking unprepared and weak.

His supporters can't admit this, so they activate their knee-jerks only to end up supporting the growing concern that DeSantis is a man who needs more coddling than does his three year old daughter.
