According to investigators the victims are not U.S. citizens and were promised good paying jobs by the individuals who smuggled them across the border only to be forced to live in poor conditions and work on a marijuana grow operation

But...but...but we were told that if only we legalized marijuana in California all the illegal operations would just dry up and with the bonus of a flood of new tax revenue. Yeah those of with brains called bullsquat on it from day one.
