Millennials are warning Gen Z not to make the same tattoo mistakes

By Brooke Kato
August 3, 2023

Think before you ink.

A millennial is urging Gen Zers to consider waiting to get body art after sharing her tattoo remorse online.

Leah Beth, who boasts nearly 30,000 followers on TikTok, revealed her regret in a viral clip, which scored more than 888,000 views.

“You know when you’re a teenager and you were like, ‘This is not a phase mom, this is the real me’?” she began. “It was a phase.”

The heavily-tatted content creator — who has inked her arm, stomach and, most recently, leg — admitted she has now changed her mind about her permanent art, adding that she “cringes” at ones that don’t bring her “joy” nor “have meaning.”

“There is really something to be said about brain development and decision-making, ’cause when I tell you, something switched in my little head about one more before my 25th birthday,” Beth said.

“I woke up one day and I was like, ‘What have I done?’“

Aside from the real time affect of a tattoo, I will always wonder what one might look like as a person ages.

Sagging, wrinkling and just general age ain't pretty.

I have a couple of friends that have some pretty large tats. One was on her stomach. After being pregnant?

Wow, who didn't see that coming?

Back in the day, it was widely known in my department not to be flashing much less showing tatoos.

I loudly announced that they were unprofessional.  I am guessing I wouldn't get away with that now days.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

When we were doing interviews for sales positions with my (a fortune 500) company back in the late 90's tats were not a deal breaker.  But circus freak tats like they sport today would be a hell no.

Tats are so prevalent now that the woman who doesn't have them is actually the rebel.

Funny how the Tramp Stamp metastasized in such a short period..

Truer words were never spoken.

And that kind of woman earns my admiration.

Body Tat's. Blue, red, colored hair. Body piercings.  No wonder males are going cuck.

I remember as a kid rarely seeing tattoos on anybody. Maybe sailors or circus workers.
Today, of course, they're everywhere on younger people.
The wife and I always laugh at the "body art" (ha, ha, ha) and surmise what these young people will be thinking ten-twenty years in the future about their "wonderful" body art. Piercings too.
But it's a free country. I certainly don't favor bans on those things.
In a free country you get to do many stupid things as long as you're not harming others. I've done my share. Just never gotten a tattoo.

Generally, I would advise against any sort of self-mutilation until you are at least 30. Very few people are mature enough to make adult decisions in their teens and 20s.
