Trump vows to give Ukraine ‘more than they ever got,’ calls Zelenskyy ‘very honorable’
July 18, 2023 | Tom Tillison

Donald Trump’s campaign has used the candidate’s opposition to the war in Ukraine as an advantage over the rest of the Republican primary field, touting that he is the only one saying he will end the war — Trump has repeatedly claimed that he would end the war in 24 hours if elected president.

On Sunday, during an interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo, Trump threw that entire narrative and any advantage that he may have had because of it out the window when the former president called Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy “very honorable” and said he would send the country “more than they ever got” under President Joe Biden.

Bartiromo asked Trump how he could end the war in 24 hours and his answer was not consistent with the opposition to supporting Ukraine seen from many in the MAGA base — nearly 96% of the pro-Trump crowd surveyed at last week’s Turning Point USA convention said they did not support U.S. involvement in the war.

Sounds to me that Trump is threatening Putin??  We've given Z billions the next step would be boots on the ground or an air attack on Russia?

As for saying that Z is honorable, I really question Trump's judgement.

It's classic Trump -- deliberately speaking out of both sides of his mouth. So if he is criticized for taking one position, he (and certain of his supporters) will simply point to a different quote and say that you're mischaracterizing his position.  He and they both know that is dishonest, but they don't care.

It's the exact kind of weasel-wording for which so many Trump supporters will criticize professional politicians.

At the rate things are going for him legally, I don't think we have to worry about him being the nominee.  Just my opinion.
