Lol…

I could care less whose rallies you post. I’m just simply pointing out to you that the Trump rallies are  a part of being in the bubble

Rallies really don't make that much difference any more.  Perhaps in future they will once again, but at this point, they're really only an exercise in hero-worship for the deeply committed.

Whether one believes that Trump in fact won the 2020 election based on the popular vote (i.e., actual ballots) or not, the fact of the matter is that Biden got a hell of a lot of support, despite the fact that he did almost no rallies, and those he did do had extremely low turnout.

Rallies are an old-school thing; back when they were really the only way to get almost unmediated access to what a candidate was saying.  That is no longer the case; it is easy enough to get that sort of access without ever attending a single rally.

DeSantis is case in point:  he won re-election in Florida in a landslide - so clearly he is very popular with Floridians - and yet, supposedly, he has low turnout at rallies.  That, in a nutshell, demonstrates that there is no longer a meaningful correlation between a candidate's popularity - and hence his/her electability - and the size of the rallies he or she can command.

Those who think otherwise are living in the bubble of the past.

Or....simply put:  Trump's message and track record resonate with 75,000,000 voters and they want him back.

Seriously??

Just for starters, he didn't even get 75,000,000 total votes in the election. The votes he did get included lot of people who voted for Trump just because he was the GOP nominee, and the alternative was Biden, not because they were enamored with Trump's message and track record.

And certainly, there are a bunch of us who were part of that 2020 vote who would prefer if we never had to see or hear from Donald Trump again.

So you may want to do a recount.

And for a lot of us who did vote for him in 2016 and 2020, we're not voting for him again.

No.  I voted for the clown twice - 2016 and 2020 - and no, I do not want him back, particularly since he has shown no improvement over the clueless git who left office in Jan. 2021, and in fact has turned even more back to the left since then.

No more clown-town shitshows.

I think rallies have always been a poor indicator.

It don't get much more country than where I am. But even here, a rock star can fill a stadium.
Does that mean all these cowboys love rock music?
No, it does not. Folks will come from miles and miles away for the entertainment. Even though they are really thin on the land, it sure looks impressive.

In the world outside of Trump rallies and TruthSocial, Trump never polled above 50% JAR while president, he left office with a JAR in the 30’s, we lost three elections with him on the ballot either directly or indirectly

That’s the real world. I can understand people voting and supporting certain candidates. I’ve supported and voted for candidates that lost or I knew they would lose but voted for them regardless because I agreed with them ideologically

But I didn’t dismiss reality in my decision making
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

Oh yes you are, pal. In the end he lost. He failed. It doesn't matter why. If you want to win the war, you don't go back to the failed general and the failed way. You get a different general.

Add me to that tally.  DJT and his minions better not rely on those same 75M.  To hell with him.

So, according to you,  standing for the Constitution of the United States and the rule of law is advocating doing the wrong thing. Tell me,  why do you call yourself a "principled" Conservative when you have none?

I gotta admit, you have really stepped up your game in you use of non-rational persuasion.  Your typical employment of logical fallacies is showing much more variety now, @Right_in_Virginia

You're not standing for the rule of law... You're hyperventilating because your boy has his tail in a crack. The only way forward is to prove himself in that court of law. That IS the rule of law.

I get it. I don't think it's right, and I have not believed any of the accusations against him. But for some reason you want me to do something about it when there's nothing to do. It has to play out, and that is in the courts, and well beyond my reach. If you expect me to hyperventilate about it like you do, well that ain't gonna happen.

But standing for big government coming from the right is certainly wrong.
Endorsing monumental debt and increasing government reach and power is certainly wrong.
And I could go on. It is the wrong way - Explicitly.

I will not endorse that, regardless of the pinch he finds himself in.

I'm thinking it's Trump using his surrogates to ask for another January 6.  You know, a bunch of fanatical lunk-heads get duped into breaking into a federal courthouse or something to stop his trial.  And we all know how that ends, right?

Because otherwise, I agree with you.  They all demand that we "do something", but without being explicit about exactly what they expect us to do.

It's crazy... I mean, literally unhinged. I have long ago declared the opinion that it is all a witch hunt, perhaps even using those very words. I have not endorsed a single one of the impeachments or attempts toward his arrest... Against them all - Yet with nothing to do other than render an opinion, void of facts presentable in a court of law, the frenetic nagging and shaming continues.

You may be right, but I think that a tangential consequence of getting everyone all hepped up. I think this is the direct result of the martyr play... How can I not want to help elect him when all these awful people are beating him down, the poor, valiant, underdog?

But the con rolls off of me. All of his pointing and shrieking how unfair it is has zero effect. It is all pointless drama, made for media. It's how he plays em. Maybe that's why all the rah-rah crap at the rallies don't work on me either.

My support comes by way of a criteria, and only by that criteria... And no matter the drama, that criteria is kept to the fore. It comes from critical thinking, and critical path. But that from a philosophy rather than any political motive.

And I think that's proper.

If there are any Trump supporters left stupid enough to rally at the courthouse all it will result in is them getting arrested when the FEEBS, ANTIFA, and any other fascist/socialist group uses them for cover to cause mayhem and the added bonus of sliming Trump further. The left and their media is in Heaven if Trumps supporters rally they can use it and if Trumps supporters don't take the bait and steer clear the left will use it as proof that Trumps support is failing.

If the town drunk runs for mayor and fails and then is charged with bogus crimes to keep him from running again that doesn't mean I should vote for the drunk as some sort of call for justice. That's just stupid. Demand justice, yes. Vote for him no.

We saw similar polls in the 2022 midterms. All the polls favorited a republican red wave.

But when actual voters went to vote, the  results did not match the polls. We don’t elect the president by a national popular vote. They  have to carry enough states to reach 270 electoral college votes

What states do you see that are really going to Trump’s corner? Wisconsin won’t. Michigan won’t Arizona won’t. Georgia won’t. Virginia won’t. Pennsylvania might

He will probably carry the same states that he did in 2020

Everything in your latest supports my opinion that you lack principles.

If you will not call for an end to the indictments of Donald Trump and support the right of the American voter to decide his fate, unimpeded  ---- then you are merely a graduate of the Obama-Biden School of Fascist Lawfare with a major in Election Interference using your degree to remove a man you do not want to win ---- and cannot stop any other way.

So, spare me your "principled" Conservative  :bs:
